is it possible to port over units from ArmA 1 to ArmA 2 such as Taliban or Johnny's Marines if so how?

It is not possible, as stated in previous threads. There's new sections etc and model.cfg stuff. So we can't have new units in ArmA2 until BIS releases the editing tools suite.

Not entirely true. A number of ARMA addons work flawlessly.
