Bought my version from Metaboli, I installed teh game fine my key passed the securom test but just like the others as soon as i try join a MP game it says i have Invalid Key!

I contacted Metaboli straight away and i am INCREDIBLY INCREDIBLY FURIOUS AT THEM! LIke bluewave said they are REFUSING to give support.

here's what they emailed back to me...

I dont get why people are having problems with this..I got mine from morphicon, just about 2 days ago, and i got mine downloaded, they sent me a working CD-key. Anti-virus maybe blocking the online activation?

I don't think BIS can help you, it's the publisher that should be supplying Metaboli with keys.

Did you guys try to mail Morphicon/PeterGames? Seems like quite few people are having this problem.
If you manage to get anywhere, post here so others with the problem can see.

I received a key and it works fine to install the game but once in the game Multiplayer for anything is just Invalid CD Key.
I can't host LAN / Internet and cannot join Internet games.

I sent them an email this morning but it's a German tech site hopefully they translate my support ticket =)

For sure will do that!

I don´t want to accuse anybody but since ArmA 2 is in the warez scene for a few days now it´s kinda hard to determine if some ppl just want to check if there is a workaround to circumvent the key check for online gaming.
The same for some gameplay issues; could be fade.
No offence, just saying!
If you got an legit version my tip would also be to contact morphicon (best with prove of purchase) i am sure they gonna help you.

Make sure that the serial number you have entered is correct - best to copy the serial number from the email into the input window, in order to avoid input errors.

It may happen that personal firewalls, antivirus programs and other security applications or any existing emulators, virtual drives, etc. software conflicts with the software activation and trigger the activation block. Please disable such programs for a short time from the activation ..

If the automatic activation still not working, please select the option for manual activation. The required unlock code can be found at the following site using the serial number and request the code (from the activation window) to create:

What you guys are basically saying is that BIS is responsible for the contents of my posts as it goes live, effectively my content on their site, right here.

Metaboli was a distributor for the game on behalf of Morphicon/PeterGames. As such the content distributed by Metaboli belonged to Morphicon/PeterGames. You shouldn't be contacting Metaboli for MP related issues if you've got beyond the install/activation phase, which you have, you're in-game. Your issue is key authorisiation for MP, who's responsible for it? who knows.

Boggy, you should be ok, many of the German population under 40 seem to speak english quite well. You can use Google's translator if you have any other issues, but include both the translation and the original English text in your communication.

Yes, but what the kind lady at kundensupport@<hidden> is saying is that it is possible that securerom is not registering, but the CD key is valid, so it is allowing you to play the game (as if you were not connected to the internet) but not access multiplayer.

Re-installing the game because you need the Securerom Unlock Request Code that comes up when your typing in your CD-Key.

Why? The game is installing and activating fine, it's just that we're being stopped/blocked from joining or hosting a Multiplayer WAN game. Sounds like an issue BI should be sorting out. Making a game and refusing responsiblity for a crippling issue, which isn't down to user error is complete bull, regardless of if there is CD Keys involved, you chose the publishers. You're making it sound like you're doing us a favour by not locking the thread!

I deleted game, removed securom files with securom removal tool, reinstalled the game, activeation code accepted by securom, installed ok. But still the same problem on joining multiplayer Invalid CD key!:o

Did you take down the Securerom request ID so you could try manual registration at the website?

Because Metaboli have sent me onto Morphicon who have failed to respond to my support ticket, within a reasonable time frame.

Hi all,

I got the same problem here.

I try to reinstall the game 4 times, on another Pc, disable the antivir software, on another os too; but the same thing : unable to join a multiplayer game.:mad:

Config : Vista 64, C2Q6600, 4Go, GTX260.

If the support offices adhere to standard working times it looks as though our issues won't be fixed until maybe next week. Quite fustrating.

Does anyone know of a retailer that has working copies to purchase?
As Metaboli are now issueing refunds, it may be worth going else-where if they have working keys rather than wait.

We are aware of some German online keys of the last batch not activated yet for online play and contacted the registration support some time ago about the issue and it should be addressed very soon

can i just say from a british player who could not wait for the game been release over here ,i like to say a big thank you, great game and looking forward to playing it over the internet .thank you for posting to let us know what is going on .

Sure the mail didn't end up in your spam/junk folder? If you didn't get your key then contact them about it. Obviously that's going to do more good than simply complaining about it here while not doing anything.

What's strange is that I did get an email with the download-link and my ordernumber, but nothing about the CD Key. I speak german and so I doubt I missed anything, I also checked my spam-filter just to be sure - nothing.

It was an automated email though, just like an order-confirmation.
So I suppose it could take a few hours still? Only been 4 hours since I bought it.
If they handle CD-Key's manually that is. I dont suppose they have people working at 02:30 (CET) in the night.

Here's my experience d/l from Metaboli...

Sunday night I bought the game from Metaboli. My card was charged $58. I was happy. I started d/l and went to bed. I woke up Monday to an email saying transaction was cancelled.

Monday I tried to buy from the other place (petergames?). I put in my card info and bought the game. It said I would receive an email when transaction was finished. That was the last I heard from them. I try again from Metaboli. This time I use paypal. i am charged $58 again.

Tuesday I get CD-key in email (paypal purchase worked). I install game (from Sunday's d/l) and fail at activation (CD-key not valid it says). I cut and pasted straight from email. I play email tag with Metaboli.

Wednesday I download new links from Metaboli. I install game and fail at activation (again, CD-key not valid). I get mad, reformat computer, and start install process over. This time I succeed!

So why did it all the sudden work? It was the same CD-key the whole time. Was it from reformatting (and maybe removing something from registry from first install), does each d/l have it's own key and my first install wasn't for that key?

I don't know how this will help anyone... that's just how it worked out for me.

Anyways, it works now. I wish I was patient enough to wait for US release and not have to jump through all these hoops. But I did it for Arma, and I'll do it again for Arma 3. :eek:

I purchased over 4 hours ago, downloaded successfully but no key was provided with confirmation e-mail. The nice people at Kundensupport Gamesplanet said wait up to 8 hours before contacting them again so it looks like I have another 4 hours to go... :(

Update...It only took about 13 hours, but I did receive my CD Key last night (YAY!!!). Installed, activated, and immediately applied the 1.01 patch no problems. I was able to start a local LAN Warfare game and played for about an hour. It may all be in German, but I know most of the squad commands from habit so it's not been too hard to set up and play. See you on the battlefield... :D

This has gone completly off topic.
The situation was that the CD Keys that Metaboli were issueing (within 1 hour or 100 hours, its not the issue) were not allowing players to join multiplayer games.
This issue was due to the CD Keys not being registered in the master game servers because they were brand new.
This issue has now been fixed.

Please keep on topic and only post if your CD-Key is INVALID. If you have simply not received your CD Key from a retailer, contact their customer support.

There is a trick with gamesplanet/metaboli. Just log in and klick the send e-mail information button on your gameinfo page. That way you will get your key instantly - just like they advertise it - instead of waiting for ages until they finish their 'security check'. ;)

Ok i did like this, when i orderd the game and where waiting on the CD-Key, i enterd one that i found on the net. The installation started but when i came to star force yadda i enterd my real key. Wich key will the Multiplayer game look at?
Is there possible to change the first key i enterd to my real one without reinstall the whole game??

Not working as in unable to install the game or not working as in multiplayer? You can PM me the key and I can check it for you to tell you if it's a valid CD Key or not.

Have you also tried the 2 for z and other confusing letters people have mentioned?

My problem is solved, many thanks to placebo!

my N and M in the CD-key looks almost 99% exactly same!
It really helps to distinguish the characters by taking a close up picture and zoom in if anyone have similar problems.

I'm planning to buy the US version too, hope the US publisher won't have this same issue.

Yes i also tryed 5 times during installing until my cd-key got accepted... pay attention on the following letters: (german version)

S could be a 5 (5 could be an S)

M could be a N (N could be a M)

Z could be a 2 (2 could be a Z)

0 could be an O (O could be a 0)

if you can manage to make the installer accepting your key you can call yourself a "keybord cowboy" - good luck :p

the funny thing is: You think you can read the key in the shop, but at home when installing the game you'll find that ithe key is not accepted. That's when the guessing starts.

I bought the boxed game and it took me three or four trials to enter the valid key. I had some trouble with the beta and the final patch, so I decided to re-install the game. This time I wrote the key on a piece of paper using the NATO code as I punched it into the computer and attached the note to the manual for future reference.

If it says ""dla" is not recognized" then I can only guess it means that you don't have any of those kinds of software installed, the solution must be somewhere else.

Have you checked to see if you have a file called "paul.dll"?

I am at the same problem as you m8! It could be that the DE patch and the downloaded version is not correct match for us. It could be for the Retail version of the game (DVD boxed).

Maybe someone can help us out?

If it says ""dla" is not recognized" then I can only guess it means that you don't have any of those kinds of software installed, the solution must be somewhere else.

Have you checked to see if you have a file called "paul.dll"?

Now, were do i find the paul.dll ? Ive checked trough the arma2 folder.
And what should i do with it? Sorry, im not an expert :(

I copied paul.dll and lanf.ini to the arma2 folder and mangaed to start it upp after i had given my serial for the second time :)
Now i just have to add the English mod.

I can check your CD Key for validity if you PM me it. You installed the game originally with the same CD Key?

Hello All

I am having a strange problem with the activaton of ArmA II. After running the setup, I get a message stating ArmA II is already installed (which it is not). It then asks me to reinstall or cancel, so I choose reinstall and get prompted for a verification code. I have never received a verification code. Any ideas??? Has anyone else had this problem??

I have sent this info to support and will wait for a reply.

EDIT:

Good news. I received an activation code by email. All is well.

Can't reinstall ArmA 2, the downloaded setup file from petersgames.de tells me the CD key is wrong. I have tried with and without revoking the license. How can this even happen? I installed ArmA 2 one time earlier with that same key.

ive got a problem with installing the new patch and with mp.
i already installed the game again but it still doesnt work.
i get the game for my birthday.

Personaly my cd-key works for the installation but Securom tells me that I have reached the maximum number of activations (which one ? 3 ?).

I've contacted Securom 3 days ago: No answer.
I've contacted metaboli 3 days ago They redirected my to Morphicon, but they are cool.
I've contacted Morphicon 3 days ago : No answer yet and no automatic message.

:(

Will Securom be removed in the future ? ArmA has a long last appeal and if I have to contact morphicon every year in order to play ArmA it will really be boring...

My god guys, i've just nearly had a heart-attack a while ago because of this game.. :) I was just fooling around with my downloaded addons on a self-made test map and after a while i realized fade is kicking in. After this i tried joining several servers, each said something like bad cd-key (but not disabled, like for some of the players here). The bad thing (was), that my copy of the game is pretty fresh (couple of days old) so with the lack of ideas, and in my desperation, i reinstalled the game. Now everything works like a charm, and i can play multiplayer, too. Anyone has an idea how the hell could this happen to me?! :D

I cant even find my bloody CD Key.......

Just downloaded Arma II from Nexway DLC, and I quote.....

English :
To activate your software, please enter the code below and choose "Automatic Activation" at the first launch.
(You must have a broadband connection).
Be careful ! There's a limited number of activations.

Trouble is you scroll to the end of that email and there is no damned code ?? Or have I gone blind with old age :(

At the moment I cant get past the install part where its asking for the CD Key, despite it being an downloaded version of the game, and not being supplied a code at all ?

I've heaped praise on BIS for years...well earned praise.
Op flashpoint was amazing.
I have a bog standard install and with this patch get nothing but ctd.
Performance increases ....no. the time it gave to venture about was the same or worse.
BIS you bit off more than you can chew.....too ambitious ...give it up.
I'am going back to enjoy gaming that does'nt fu*^$k me round.
