View Full Version : Need More Explanation of ArmA HighCommand and HighCommandSubordinate Modules

I tried to set up the following structure, but with no success.
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/High_Command#Startup
I'm not clear about, if I need an initline or not and where to place it. I also don't understand the meaning of these <> brackets e.g. <HCO>. What is meant with this?
<HCO> hcsetgroup [<group>,""]; Are this brackets "<>" needed? Is HCO the module? Do I have to name it? Thought, the module has the name BIS_HC_# where # is 0,1,2....
What are the names of the Sub Modules?
Hope someone can help or provide a template to study.
Simply:
make your command group and make yourself the leader of it
make another group you want to command
Make the HC -Commander and HC Subordinate Game Logics
Sync the HC Commander GL to the leader (you) and to the subordinate game logic, and then sync the subordinate GL to the leader of the group you want to command
With regards to the command (Which I guess is used to add groups to your command mid mission), you shouldn't need the <>'s, HCO I assume would be the leader (that said, just try both and see what works?)

I tried that. Even before with the explanations from bistudio. I get no icons addressing the connected group.
See picture how I connected according to your explanation. Second group is yet not connected.

All connections are synchronization F5!
So any more good hints ;)

I love that someone!
If he could only be more obvious
Thank you very much. It's great to make these platoons walk.
People need to do the training missions for once, it's all explained in there
Now appended to the Biki

I hope someday someone will creat CMAS missions... (Combat Mission:ARMA Style)
When i tested this quick i didnt need to sync the logics to myself. I just added myself, the logic Hi-Command and then started to add loads of groups and vehicles/aircrafts. When i got in the game - CTRL+SPACE and i could order them all around.
But maybe syncing is the correct way, however i didnt need it and it was a very fast procedure to setup.

As noted in the BIKI, setting yourself up as a commander not synced to any subordinate groups gives you full control over everyone on your side
