Right, so I got myself a copy of Arma 2 as well now. The german release. Quite frankly, I wouldn't see an issue there for non-german speakers unless you're sort of blind and dumb :) But due to the patch strategy it might as well be a good choice to wait for int'l releases. Now, Arma 2 is just an amazing piece of work. So many great changes: AI, the skies, new models, traintracks, fantastic audio and sounds, the great new Island. The amount of improvement work done here just blew my mind. After all the nagging I didn't expect this to be honest. Sure, it's still buggy; but we're nowhere near the Arma 1 situation.
Having said that, I wanted to suggest to start a "small bug thread". You know, about the little disturbances here and there of which you're not sure they ever make into a bug report. Let's see if this topic get's picked up by more people. I for one will start with 2 little things I noticed. A few slipped my mind already. Will update this as soon as I come across them again.
D - description / R - how to reproduce

D: SU25, a LOD problem? The lower LOD always shows the model with gear down.
R: To be observed when you place a flying SU25 somewhere and watch it with a weapons scope. From further away the models approaches with gear down; during the switch to the next higher LOD the gear disappears again.

D: Su34: No inside engine sound (or volume at 0%). Outside engine and effect sounds (engine start / stop) are fine.
R: Enter a Su34 and start the engine.

D: Javelin model problem, the weapons' optic device is attached to the rocket
R: Place a javelin gunner and watch the complete front part disappear when firing

D: Various (ca.pbo) script, mission, model and sound errors popping up or showing up in the rpt file, will not pursue this further before patch #1

D: Equipment lies on top of the water surface when you loose it while swimming. This only refers to ponds, lakes. It doesn't happen in open waters at the coast.
R: Place a unit into any lake and swim for ~1 minute. You will notice him being surrounded by his equipment all of a sudden.

D: Oddity - the belt of the M136 and Mk4 machineguns slowly swings left and right even if the unit doesn't move an inch. Isn't that a total waste of CPU cycles?

another small bug:
when you klick left mouse button, with action menü open...it will perform the selected action. can't unmap that button...it isn't even mentioned in the control options :(

That's indeed not a bug but the UI design. Disputable as it may be it doesn't really count as an error in that sense I would say...

-The Horn of the UAz dont work in Multiplayer (in ArmA1 it worked)
-In UAZ somtimes the face of the codriver gets invisible

@<hidden>: I don't think this ever worked. Afaik the horn is a "fired" event which is only processed locally - not across the MP network. The face bug - no idea, could not reproduce this with any faces in my team. They were always displayed. At least it doesn't seem to be specific to the UAZ.

- I get a missing something popup when trying to use mortar long-range.
- Firing MRLS as gunner blows up the vehicle
- texture lag with buildings, damage textures on vehicles and units
- flickering
- sometimes game comes to a complete stop while the hardrive goes crazy
- units running through solid buildings
- NV is really weird AGAIN. Once there is a brighter part in the sky during night it makes the NV obsolete as all is dark again except the bright part of the sky
- the view-lag when looking around is disturbing imo
- general performance not that topnotch, lots of stutters
- no preview of voice in user setup
- Glasses in user-setup have no textures
- Campaign bugs

Nope, in ArmA1 it works perfect!

- sun is shining through hills
- Scope sight is not useable with low sun in the back. The whole thing turns plain white.
- AI report enemies through hills far away
- Ai drivers are wrecked...totally
- AI Helicopters crash into woods, buildings, hills
- AI Tanks get stuck on railways
- AI vehiles get stuck at railway crossings
Yep...that´s all observations from playing the campaign.

Hi Balschoiw, I think you misunderstood me a bit. It's not about the hefty bugs linked to video issues, AI pathfinding etc. Those are typically very prominent and will be fixed for sure (in 1.18 maybe :) ).
I was more after the small nuisances if you know what I mean.
- I get a missing something popup when trying to use mortar long-range.
- Glasses in user-setup have no textures
- Campaign bugs
Except for the campaign bugs (lots and lots) where I would wait for the 1st patch I think the top 2 are very relevant. Can you provide more info on these? Glasses in user setup?

The german installer says " Bitte wählen sie das temporäre Verzeichnis, dass während die Installation benutzt werden soll. " it has to be "[...] ,dass während der Installation benutzt werden soll."
It is a nominalized verb, and you have to use "der" in this case ;-)

Yeah, I noticed some language screwups as well in the game (mix of EN and GER) but wouldn't want to list them at present since this is very obvious material for a patch anyways. Check items 5 and 6 and you know what I'm after :)

- 1.0 clients can connect to 1.01 beta servers - no "bad version" kick at all.
- BM-21 Gunner optics are messed up.
- Skeetshooting not available as SP/MP mission! :pet5:
- Can't turn postProcessing off
- White sunglasses in Profile menu after a few clicks around
- Visible textures of muzzle flashes
- Red trees very red from a distance
- Frigates/Destroyers Sink
- Truck suspension goes wacko
- No animations for rear - gunner on Vodnik
- Animations error civilians with Ambient: Civilians
- Guns float on surface of water in lakes
- Two white windows at Devils castle, very obvious in fog.
- Square rendering of sea
- Distance "country - terrain" very buggy, not affected by sun levels and hence does not blend in with background, also does not render 100% of the time, so you have pieces of it just floating around.
- Can't change language
- No USS carrier object

settings, all on low to get frame rates decent...
#1 when configuring my x36 flight controller, crashes to desktop every single time i try to bind "turn left" to my rudder lever. Repeatable every time. So no controlling the infantry on my joystick (very well) so have to grab the mouse and keyboard till i get to the aircraft then im fine.
#2 my weapons toggle is on my flight stick and when i switch weapons the guy calls out the weapon as normal... but random times when im not even pushing buttons let alone switching weapons the guy just starts screaming missles, missles, missles, missles, missles, missles, missles... till it about makes you puke, then he stops.... Cant repeat on command, but does in fact happen randomly for some reason..
#3 multiplayer browser.. when connecting to a server and it is going to time out, you cant cancel to go back to the lobby.. you have to wait for the program to decide it cant connect and then tell you it couldnt connect... which was quite a few servers...
Filter "passworded" show or no show when selected dont show, still shows servers that are passworded
also, i'd like another filter option, for "same game version" show same or no show all..
its 3:15am right now and i cant keep my eyes open anymore... im going to bed... see you guys tomorrow

Sorry. I thought it was meant for bugs in general.
I didn´t want to spread the bugs all over the place that´s why I posted them here.
Would be cool if we had a central place for bugreporting either on the forums or externally as I guess it´s hard for the DEVS to keep on track if they are splattered all over the (forum)place.
Maybe a mod can setup a pinned thread with clear regulations and rules for collecting the bugs.
Big or small please post all your bug findings into the BUG_Tracker here...where they can be followed up without getting lost in the forums..

As much as I honor your initiative there should be either a place here on the forums or a link by developers to an official place.
External bugtrackers with no link to the company or product in question have proven to be ineffective as they are not to be found by users of the product and are not visited by dev´s that often.
We need an official place from BIS.
- First M67 grenade throw is always a dud, no explosion. :eek:

If you shoot the pks out of ammo in the Wodnik, there is one round left when he changes the mag :)
The boat jetty places where you can dock boats is bugged when destroyed. When destroyed it rises into the air

- No sound in mig 35....exterior sound ok, but no noise at all in cockpit.
Also...where is the improved steering method for vehicles we got promised ?
It´s still the same old "push the mouse around the table until the table ends" method that
has been in Arma and has been promised to be fixed in Arma 2....

- another good one: If a Mi 17 is wrecked, it sinks into ground when tunring over. Looks really odd...
- damaged vehicles sink into ground at first and when they catch fire they suddenly jump out of the dirt again. Must be the gas in the suspension expanding...right ? :pet7:

1. Problem with textures on trees and bushes - only sometime and only if you view under certain angle, but I think it should be fixed though.

2. When you throw grenade on the bridge it sometime "ignore" the bridge and fall under the bridge.

They are just preparing the trees for christmas :P
- unable to build (eg. in cti as a commander) when shooting is not mapped to the primary mouse button
- All auto fire weapons (including board weapons of helis/airplanes) don't work when shooting is mapped to the right mouse button.
- Tank movement is still (since OFP) screwed when you command your driving tank AI as a commander. When you command "Left" the tank moves some left and then moves back right again afterwards.
- On one MP Map you often start swimming in the water
- The MP Deathmatch counts every hit as friendly fire, unbelievable that this one has made it through the quality assurance :butbut: The winner is the one with the most negative score
- Sometimes AI Players are Heroes, the hit you behind a truck from an insane distance.

Here is some things I have issues with, maybe not entirely on topic and maybe already mentioned but its nonsense to start another thread for this:
-Same bug as in A1; when you switch from sidearm to AT and then to primary you are stuck with sidearm but in left top corner it says primary. You are not able to shoot either. You need to click secondary again and then switch back to primary. This bug apears in different orders too.
-You are not able to switch to sidearm while moving (atleast walking) but you are able to reload while moving. That should be changed. Maybe not for switching to AT but to sidearm for sure.
-Still no sound for squealing tires.
-Reloading animations are the same as in A1. They said they are gonna be amazing.
-Animation for entering a truck looks weird.
-You are not able to step over gas pipelines
-When you start heli on LHD, water is being affected under it by heli rotor.
-Sprinting with sidearm is not possible.
-Only up-armored HMMWV has exhaust on side?
-No afterburners again? Planes are too slow again and loose speed way too fast in cornering.
Otherwise, movment is great, graphics too, once you set it right. Needs some more work but its great.

I have no vertical grid numbers on my map :confused:
...and yes ,I'm using the language patcher thingy.
In the campaign, 'into the storm' 2nd mission? Town name Pustila, or something like that. The one where you are to lase targets that the unrelated AI pops red smoke on. There is a tank on patrol. When zoomed in, the tank crossing the bridge is under the road texture. Completely hidden.

Artillery Bug
I noticed that when you set up the artillery module with an am empty mortart the module gives you a type of aiming device depending on what the angle is (which is fine and great) however you dont get any sort of marker for the M119 or MLRS when using the Arty Module to fire
Would be most appreciated if this was fixed

When in M1A2 TUSK near other M1A2 TUSK, You can see the other M1A2's Loader's whole body thro the armor. It requires you to be very close to the other tank but it's still annoying.

- Civillian traffic module spawns cars,trucks in/on buildings or too close to each other, blocking roads, entrances sometimes. Had a funny moment though when a red car spawned on top of a destroyed church slowly flipped over when I just looked up and crushed me :pet7:
- Civillian modul sends the crowds on the street again very, very soon after fighting has ended. The time-delay should be longer imo as it´s weird if you just popped out the last enemy of your choice and Joe Smart comes out of his door seconds after happily whisteling while trolling through corpses. Delay should be at least a few minutes...not seconds.
