Hello all.
This is the first time posting a new topic, so please be easy on me if Im doing something wrong, like not following the topic rules or something like that.

Now, Ive got a suggestion here.
I think we've got two best modded warfare out there right now: Warfare RBT and WACO  http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif
I like the command center idea of RBT and I also like how the AIs fly aircrafts and filling up M113s with soldiers in WACO.

I want them both included in one file.
Is it any way possible for rundll.exe and Doomguy to work together and bring us the best warfare yet to be seen here? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif

Or, if Doomguy or rundll.exe doesn't want to do it, then Im more than happy for someone else to try and do it not only for me but for the whole community.

I only wish I had all the skills needed to edit the missions my self  http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

So what do you say community? Do you like the two warfare(RBT and WACO)?
and would you like to see the both warfares good bits included in one warfare?(I should've made a pool here hehe) http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
Or just in worst case, am I talking rubbish here?

I want suggestions, new ideas and any criticisms are welcome too.

I agree I have been trying to do this myself but have hit a brick wall called loads of errors that keep coming up.

So if somebody else could merge these two great missions it would be fantastic.

I rather see a crcti warfare version. For me crcti is alot better made and less laggy and i like the way you can respawn any building when you die and either access the build menu by runing up to a building or using the command center.

Also has things like m113 and bmp support unit that you can rearm and heal at and buy wepons at which saves the hassle of having to buy a repair truck and ammo truck

What I mean is that i can fix some issues etc, convert scripts and otherwise do some coding.  I made my own ground up cti and released warfare advanced.  I don't have a lot of time as I am regular force infantry though.

I was thinking of fixing what is there and reducing lag, if you can get me the latest build i can debug it, trim it down and send it back.   That could even make brit happy.

I should have read the previous post, i have merged missions before as well.  If you can get me the source i may be able to help you out.

I have features in warfare advanced that may help as well including much better body cleanup, ai  point sharing and equiping ai with custom loadouts.

IRT Boshart's looking for dynamic weather, I have scripts and can code it ground up. Need to start reducing the missions lag though

I made a version combining rbti 00085, WACO and my Warfare advanced

Features include rbti functionality, waco ai and my ai score sharing - you get points form ai.  Dolores bridge fixes, and individual loadouts per unit class to name a few.  Known bug, scaler bool issue on template prices for east, does not effect functionality.  Many other existing errors have been removed including 'missing content:warfare and other bugs.  Better unit deletion system and improved supply trucks

PS dynamic weather, while not in this vers is simple, it just needs a controlling serverside script and reactive clientside ones.  You can even get fancy and create zones with different weather of you want by using triggers and markers.

I'm going to try this warfare myself within a week and then we might find some points that can be improved on.

Also, if anyone else wants to try this new warfare, one should ask the nearest server admins to load this mission and gather bug infos to report it here.

BTW, if may I ask for a favor; it would be very nice to see Lite Sahrani 16 player version.

Woudn't work on server so when i un-pbo'd it -the .Ext and mission sqm was missing!

So what has Benny been up to?  [Revellion has not played ArmA in a long time, is AWOL, so RBT will become BE (Benny Edition)].

As it turns out, Benny's been busy on the game as always!

After people complained that the game can really lag badly in framerate the longer the game goes on, Benny has been hard at work at building it up from Warfare 1.1 again, streamlining everything.  I think thats fantastic news!

I still have some work to do on that mission I am combining, damn army keeps me busy, so I'll have it done ASAP. Which may mean a week or so. Gotta get it done before my life expectancy shortens.

My combined version is working, though the WACO parts were pretty much just done by me rather than importing the WACO code.

Please not that benny did code the RBT mod, I just assist on distribution and information. As much as I would love to help coding, I simply lack the time.

I just hotfixed the file. There was an issue with the west side resulting from one errant character. a w that need to be an r. All is fixed now.

Hi,

I do have a couple:

1) Implementation of a sourcing system with fuel, ammo and perhabs the ability to recruit personnel when being in other cities. This could work for example in a way that you only could get fuel & ammo and are able to recruit people for your squad (spawned near you) based on supplies that transports delivers travelling between cities and your base (no transports and you will be short on fuel, ammo and recruits soon)

2) Together with idea 1) - For Single Player the ability to plan and setup Transport lines that propably need to be escorted. This could be a little interface to select the route i.e. Base to City 1 to City 2 etc., assign supply trucks and escorting vehicles (that all need to be build beforehand).

3) Ability to unlock other vehicles (perhaps limited to single player) in order to take over vehicles for which the drivers have been shot drivers or just hijack AI driven vehicles)

4) Ability to select which factory should be used then building a unit i.e. in case where someone has multiple light amor factories across the island.

5) Personnel and perhaps light vehicles i.e. Humveys shall always be recruitable elsewhere and delivered via paradrop. However, I would constraint this possibility perhaps on an itel that has to be built - like Arty support. Pprobably you would have to buy a "virtual" C130 in order to be able to use that feature.

adding revive capabilities like in Norrin's script would add a lot of teamwork emphasis to warfare.

edit -

how about adding civilians to neutral towns and making the partisans look the same or similar to the civilians?

also killing civilians should increase the number of partisans that you have to deal with while conquering the town.

They may even steal unoccupied vehicles (not heavy equipment obviously) and use them against you.

I have wanted to add civs to this for ages, and just make it so you loose money if you shoot them.
You can get this to work with the Racs if you add a minus before there unit costs in the barracks, but if you add civs it dosnt work.

anybody know how to get round this. I think you can set it up in unitkilled.sqs but it is beyond me.

Don't know if this civ script would be of any use to anyone, especially seeing as it says it's for single player only. But it might make a basis for a multi-player version.

For Civillians I made a 4th Non-player team very much like the RACS But there is a lot of code here to copy and paste... They work much like the RACS but I'm still trying to figure out how to get them to do something else then just run around in the wilderness... All 3 teams (the AI) keeps killing the Civilians also...

To Be honest Civilians are very annoying when scouting for enemy units...

Finally I've tried your version of Warfare, we had a play with it with 5 people in co-op. Overall comment: GREAT!! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif  Challenging AI opposition, all seems to work quite nicely and is simply fantastic for co-op gaming.

However, there were some remarks as well:
- I encountered the 'headbug' for the first time (I think): not being able to look through the scope but having the gun right in front of your head (happened multiple times with multiple weapons), but the T-menu provided a fix for that.
- I experienced some bugs with my loadout after respawning: the gear menu showed different gear than I had in my hand: had a M16 RCO GL while gear menu showed a standard M16, for example. Also, at one moment I had 12 M16 clips in my main ammo storage and 2 M136's (ammo) in my pistol ammo box...
- Rearming tanks at town centers doesn't allways work for every position: gunner position may be rearmed, but commander MG is still empty (even when commander buys the rearm or when gunner or commander is alone in the vehicle)
- the locking of newly spawned vehicles by default is great when you play with a lot of people, but we found it annoying at some times; is there a way to turn it off?

One more basic question that arose was:
- why are we (most of the time) fighting RACS instead of OPFOR? Are these sides randomly determined or can we only fight the Resistance?

The above are not 'fatal bugs', but can be annoying. I'm not sure if they are specific to your version as well, so maybe someone can confirm/deny this?

Why is the 'Locking of vehicles' annoying? I find it damn handy on pub server.

The reason for fighting RACS is because they hold all the towns at the start.
Sometimes it just takes awhile for East(AI) to capture towns

West will start opposite ends (usually) to the East,so will meet up eventually
