How can I possibly choose weapon/gear in campaign?

Hello there.

Im now playing the single player campaign again for the second time in Veteran-mode. However, what I find utterly frustrating is that in pretty much every mission I am simply handed the M4 with laserpoint. The game is full of weapons. Howcome I don't get to evaluate the mission and choose my gear accordingly? I mean, the M4 was great the first times I played the campaign. But now Im getting really bored and tired with this weapon.

Is there any mods or cheats that I can use to gain accsess to more gear?
I've googled for a cupple of hours for a campaign mod that would let me choose my gear, but no sigar.

You have the M4 with the Aimpoint optics because the mission designer decided to make it this way with no option to choose the gear.

There are no cheats to let you choose the gear.

If you want to select the gear before the missions start you need to modify the campaign on your own.

Hm, the official campaign isn't that good to play it more than once.
What about playing some good custom campaigns instead?

Search the user missions board for these:
The Cause (SLA)

And then there is the "Dynamic War" single mission campaign on the user missions board which should let you pick your gear sooner or later, no guarantee.
