View Full Version : Island Position in ArmA editor
Using the example config from BIS SampleMap in my island I have it in game editor but not centered. Can anybody tell me which are the, in config, values that affect that in order to correct it ?
P.S. @<hidden>, I hope that I'm not posting that in wrong forum or else please accept my apologies and move it.
Thanks in advance.
I dont understand your question i think ??
Your island is not placed in the middle http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif
Your island placing is not done in the config !!
If you want an island that is centered, you have to make your island "centered"

you might be noticing the additional map space arma draws beyond the edge of the defined terrain? if so, isn't it equal on all four sides?
You can always move your terrain to make it more central in the Visitor display window, however if you have objects and roads on your terrain they will need to be moved using other methods.

Perhaps he means the 'camera' start position on the mission vector map?
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">centerPosition[] = {0, 0, 0};[/QUOTE]
Digits are X Y Z coordinates. You can read them of in Visitor from the information panel, those are where your square cursor is placed on the map in Visitor.
no no, i don't think that you understand his question. probably he means in game, when you start in the editor, with the map.
suppose that this is from bis sample map (rahmadi)
//default center position
centerPosition[] = {2500,2500,300};
probably he needs to play, with the values x,y.
You can see what values to put, by enabling, the "Show rulers" on visitor, and while you move your cursor on the map, you can find a value to put (not exactly, but approximately what value to put).
anyway, i think that problem solved.
I'll try that xsparky says .............
thanks
Ah well, in that case there is no need to use rulers in visitor at all.
Just place the cursor in Visitor to the place you want as the centre, then you can see the X and Y position in the bottom bar of the Visitor window
