Well I've decided to make a little island for a difference and I've got some questions.

I want to make the island of Corfu, I've got the srtm data, but in two files. Where is it best to merge the two files and edit the files? Is it best to merge them to DEM and then use wilbur, convert to PNG or something to remove the landmass that is not the island I want to make?

Also, I tried to make something by converting some SRTM data with 3dem and when I imported it into Visitor 3(by saving map image, going to photoshop, cropping, then wilbur to png and then finally into V3) I got wierd spikes all over my terrain. Did my conversion process do that?

Also, is it good to use srtm data, or are there better sources out there?

thats usually the terrain cell size.
best way to see is imprt your stuff . and select prefferences . if you cannot alter the terrain size . save as .pbl then open the pbl and alter the terrain size in there. if you have spikes and it is 25.00
try 50.00 and see if that helps.
