Hi,
I havent tried out wpedit , but i was wondering if it is possible to create tunnels in mountians? Would make a good spot for an ambush http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

kegetys made a tunnel and postet pics in another thread
i think he createt a tunnel Model and set it over the normal terrain
cause as far as i know the terrain itself cannot have double z-axis / tunnels since every x/y has only one z coordinate
but with big mountain models it could be done
mountain model? no no no...
Well as we all have seen buildings in ofp have a funny way of blending or partially disapearing in the ground, perfect for a tunnel model in .p3d form.
Kegetys has done it, but he aint gonna release it
o yeah, the problem with tunnels are.. well.. you gonna have to put your own textures on the .p3d file cuz.. you cant in wrpedit.
Im not spamming, I just came up in the last minute, you cant do that in wrpedit to make "holes".. OFP island is a big Sheet that you form up and down with "piramides".

There's a 'edit' button...no need to post three or four times...
Well...
Gren has come up with a solution for this. You just lower a large portion of the terrain (4 entire cells per say) to 20 meters below the ground. Then you create a p3d that is the same size as the lowered terrain. The p3d will have the shape of a hill/mountain with a tunnel going through it.
Voilá, a tunnel.
A good idea is to make the actual terrain the tunnel floor, since OFP has one mean collision detection. (Ever tried lying down in GFX707's trenches?)

Having tunnels in ofp would be nice.. Maybe well see one or two in resistance. Even if we dont it doesnt matter. Well probably see them come out sometime....

That's not a small jeep, it's just seen from a bigger distance away than it looks.

How come he didn't release it. Was it like placing a heap of buildings on a map and slowed everything down?
i thinki know whay he is not releasing it ....
cozz it is one big model
how he did it was , he made 2 hills either side, and left a gap in the middle, then he made a model that looks like a tunnet and the land over it is also apart of the model, and each enind of it goes into the sides of the mountians on the sides .....
if ya look hard, you will see what i mean =:/
so he is not releaseing it cozz ya cant edit the shape of the whole tunnel look =:/

The tunnel works fine, you can walk on it, and with ofp 1.5x you can also drive vehicles on top of it... It was just a test though, and im not releasing it because of that.

How come you're not releasing it? Is it because it can only be put on one place on the map? If so, just include a readme file that says which map to use it on what coordinates to place it.
If it's not that then is it because perhaps OFP Resistance will already have tunnels? If that's not it then it would be a shame to let such an excellent creation go to waste and to never be seen outside of screenshots. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Im not releasing it because it needs wrp editing too to make it blend to the terrain, plus with ofp 1.49 it doesnt work properly. (Vehicles go through it) And it looked kinda ugly anyway, and it missed LOD levels... I dont even have it anymore myself http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif (Except the original 3d studio model is propably still there somewhere)

When I saw those pics (as of right now), my first thought was "so.. where´s the railroad and train?" http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard301/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif It would be perfect for a railroad. We have bridges, and dare I say.. tunnels (soon, when some issues have been looked into and taken care of)? I hope so, the tunnel looks great.
And I found some 3ds train models on the net too, while searching for dog models (I am so not giving up the attack dogs idea..).
Great work as always, you truly show you like exploring the possibilities and stretch it as far as it goes to try out new things. Your add-ons have added so much more value to OFP anyway, and I am not just saying that.

Because I have not seen an Island map with a Tunnel.
None of the links work, infact a lot of links dont work on this forum site. Yes, private people are hosting the links that is one reason. I just find it annoying and am finding this place a last resort than anything else.
I guess I'm too late as AA takes over.
'Tunnels' are possible, but that are 'fake tunnels' like a bridge or an House with a tunnel-hill design. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Almost gave up, PCCaves.zip link worked the second time round. Wished that "Upcoming Bahadur v1.9 Release" got released.
