I recently posted a topic "8800 or ArmA" describing some technical problems I have been having since I upgraded to an Nvidia 8800 card from an 8600.

Well, here is another new problem. although I think I may have seen a similiar question a few weeks back.

My ArmA no longer properly shuts down. It just freezes at the shutting down screen, and I have to manually use the taskbar to end process.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this problem, or how to fix it?

edit: I'm downloading the new drivers now, will update if it corrects this and the other problems.

I don't think it's strictly a 8800 problem. I have an x1950 Pro, and this stuff happens to me sometimes too (usually after long MP sessions). Oh well, it's not so big a deal compared to other Arma problems http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Don't know if it'll help or not.

have not had any improper shut downs after installing the new drivers....so far.

ArmA also runs much smoother.

update to this problem:

While the new drivers definetly imporved things... after a 2 hour SP user-made campign session agian ArmA froze at shutdown. I had to use the task manager to manually shut it down.

This isn't a game breaking glitch and a minor inconvience. But I think it's underlying cause(s) may have bigger importance.
