I have a strange issue with trackir and the new patch.

standing still it works just fine. maybe a lttle jerky. but if i start moving forward, as soon as i press the w key the view starts jeking up and down like it's getting too many conflicts or inputs.

My track IR was perfect before the patch.

If I alt-tabbing out of arma and clicking on the trackIR window and look at gauges/heads/etc the trackIR seems to be working just fine.

strangest of all, when i go back into arma the jerkiness/jitter is gone and it works just fine.

So there is a temporary work around but was wondering if anyone else had this?

I second that.

Was playing smoothly in a plane and suddenly my character had spasms and start to jerk his head around.

Did you try to shutdown PC(! ), unplug TrackIR and use another USB port yet?

Also, check the TrackIR profile settings for ArmA (edit...) and
just change one value to something else and back, shutdown
TrackIR and retry. Latest driver soft, ya?

Edit: Forgot;..works fine here, no issues.

I have the exact same problem...when I smoke cigarettes and play, that is. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif The TIR sees my "cherry" as a TrackClip reference and goes moggy. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rofl.gif I have to literally cup my ciggie and hide it from the TIR unit!

Seriously though...1.08 and TIR seems to work very smoothly on my rig. One gripe I still have is no lock view forward in ironsights view - unless by some miracle that happens to be added to the control menu. (something I haven't checked)

An old friend of mine had that problem too! ***http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

No problem with TIR4 pro and 1.08 for me. However, i disable the zoom function in the profile, so maybe try that and see if you get the same problem?

You know, I think I had this also. TrackIR would do weird little shakes.

All I did was wipe the three reflectors on the clip and the actual TrackIR device with a damp paper towel. Now all seems fine. I'm guessing there were smudges or dust causing it.

May I ask how you disabled zoom for TrackIR in the profile (that in ArmedA or TrackIR software)? I think I would like to try it disabled... (sorry for being a NOOB).

Hmm.. I should try again later. When i had the spasms (the character i mean) it was morning and i'm sitting beside the window. Been throwing around the 3-point clip around my desk for a bit too since i needed the cap this stormy week (Me? Using an umbrella? Puh-lease! lol).

Col. Flanders might be right about the smoking thing since i smoke while flying a chopper. And no i dun smell my armpits.

later!
