Look pretty good http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif even better than my dry south sahrani-island, even though I find the ground-textures a bit too dark :/ will get this though!

Strange thing is, when flying over this island i get more stutter and lag, than on full Sahrani with same settings.

Besides that, nice look and "feel" of that island.

Hmmm, IMHO it is a little more "post-apocalyptically dead" rather than "dry" - even desert plants are not brown.

I was like "WOW!" when i got ingame.

Great job! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Jonny's desert marines go great on this map.

Not evry dry ground is light sand brown (Lanzarote Cyprus as Sample)
So we (Lester) decided to use a different darker Colour.
And not every Island should be look equal we think.

So now there are three kind of it:

Darker Lester`s

Medium MC_Nools´s

Light Orcan Web´s

omg! this is lookig so real, the nature, the ambience, i mean.
dry ground, dry grass, dry bushes...

haven't tried yet, but looking at the screens i can say, this island looks perfectly polished, great job guys! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif

Well from what i've seen so far, this island looks just like all your other addons, very polished and authentic. Excellent work, two thumbs up http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif

you guys at mapfact are so pro, im wondering why does my arma need 2 attempts at starting the game to make it load the addons at all? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

I actually had a DREAM where I wrote some ideas for this map, so I'll write them in real-life too.

Actually, the bushes should be a bit more greenish, even in deserts some things manage to live so.. (I actually did the mistake of making everything brown in my plants-addon for my island too).

Also, a version with almost no trees at all for a complete desert-like experience would be nice (I know ocramweb is working on this, but it doesn't seem like there's much happening in that front).

Very nice and far more realistic island then bi`s. It has more natural feeling with brownish and redish grass and bushes...with big plus to performace and optimization.

Keep it up Mapfact!...great work!. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif

Nice to read that all here enjoy the Island, it's that it made for. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

If we anytime http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif got 'the tools', i think over a revision of the island.

Good work,
Nice island,

But could you release both keys to be able to use it on a dedicated server with verifysignatures ON.

Thank you.
We're working on it... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif

I guess its not possible to get my hands on the map files? I've always wanted to remove that massive mountain from the middle of the island to make it a more playable island. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

@<hidden>
From my side feel free to modify it, but don't forget
the Island is only a modified version of the Demo Island Saralite by BIS ! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

@<hidden>
I'm not firm enough to use visitor to enhance this things, my primary focus lay on scripting and handy addons. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif

Btw. in the next weeks this island get a little update to build in some optimations.
Including a mini editor upgrade for the modified objects to place them via Missioneditor.
This Version also would be signed at release. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Sweeeet!
Objects in seperate PBO so they can also be used apart from the Island?

Lester
Feb 5 2008, 11:15
Planned is to do that in a 'All in One' PBO

I have to think about it, there is 'a little problem' with the pathnamelenght.
Without Vegetation MLODs my possibilities are very limitated to do that. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif

Wow, I'm very observant it seems http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
Or maybe it's just a testament to how much it has changed from the demo... I'll hold a finger on the latter http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif
