CRC error...

Ok I just bought the DVD version in store in the US. CRC error at Anims.pbo.gz. This is my first time ever removing DVD from box and it is spotless... I have seen a few people now on here with these errors on DVD? I know my drives are good, this is a fresh windows install and I can install my downloaded version of ARMA, so this DVD must be bad? Aren't DVD write errors pretty uncommon from the manufacturer? Does it seem like this DVD distro company has out of spec tolerances for disc errors?

CRC errors can be due to hardware failures too, but I would take the
DVD back to store and get a new 1..

btw it really strange to see crc errors on a fresh DVD, but miracles can happen..

I just tried the install from my other DVD drive. same deal... I just reinstalled my downloaded version perfectly, but I cannot play because "Activation failed - server error - too many activation with different" yeah i know what the hell does that mean. So my download version doesnt work and my DVD version doesnt work. fuck.

Cyclic Redundancy Check or CRC error.

This error message could be generated by any of the below reasons.

1. During the transmission of the file it became corrupt or bad
2. The file was sent inappropriately
3. The device being opened from is bad or contains errors
4. The file itself is bad or the program attempting to open the file is bad

Basically, if your new DVD is getting this error message, return it ... it's a bad apple! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
