View Full Version : Ofp2.info's server?
It seems as if ArmedAssault.info AKA Ofp2.info takes ages to load on any computer I use. Wether it be a university computer, my laptop, or my gaming pc. I'm just wondering if its just me or ofp2.info's server isn't quite up to date.
Perhaps a way to speed up the website's load time? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
Loads just fine for me... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif

Are you on some sort of campus? (meaning those last two pc's are also connecting through the university's systems) If so then it might be a routing/forwarding problem.
The University of course is networked.. but my gaming pc isn't.
My internet conn is 3MB Cable and loads all other websites blazing fast.

It's slow here as well.
It`s damned slow here, with an DSL2000 connection.
All other sites work fast, OFP2.info is slow as hell.

It's the server... high demand I suppose. Remember, it's being paid by 1 guy.
Well then everyone donate! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
Ofp.info was always on top of their game with fast load times and insane responce to getting the news to their front page. Ofp2.info has that same responce time, but by the time the website loads, the next version of whateveritis that was was released is out.
Loads as fast as any other page for me http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

Hey!
Well actually the problem is not with the server, which is quite powerful, but with the internet connectivity.
This server is hosted on the Iliad network, and there are trouble about peering transactions between Iliad and Teleglobe, and I guess that you guys are using this Teleglobe network to reach our server, can you confirm it?
Click on start then execute, write CMD and press enter.
Then in the command line, write:
tracert www.armedassault.info
And look if there is "teleglobe" in the list.
This information will be helpful to us to find a workaround, maybe we'll have to set up a ftp proxy on a cheap small server in the US, or worse, rent another big server elsewhere. Also, is the site's speed (other than downloads) usually acceptable?
Thanks for info!

That was fun to type. Now after I typed this... I just found a way to copy and paste the entire thing.. *sigh* lol. Anyways... yea.. I don't know why it takes ages. I now tried it on my nephews computer @<hidden> his high-school... again its taking at least 30% longer to load than even myspace.com... "the hogger of all internet bandwidth."
Perhaps its the Area I live in? Milwaukee Wisconsin, USA?

Thanks guys! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
The armedassault.info downloads will be moved on this server too quite soon.
However since we don't want that armedassault.info become like ofp.info concerning the annoying advertisement popups etc we will probably open a donation page, that will help us to pay the two servers we are renting (armedassault.info website and forums on the first one, and armedassault.info ftp files + ofp.info addons files on the second one) and thus keeping ofp.info downloads alive as long as possible!
Just a note if you don't undestand about ofp.info files and if you missed the news, our ofp.info host Allstar told us last year that they couldn't host anymore all the files stored on their FTP due to foreign traffic, so we had to rent a dedicated server to keep downloads available.
w00t! Sweet. Great job.
armedassault.info takes forever to load here.
