lets rule out Game Soy
dload the All Seeing Eye and see if that works
this is better inmany ways, it does not encypt the conection making PIngs more realible and is NOT needed, so what if some guy scanning your ports knows your online game lol
also it shows EVERY Server in the world and shows better pings

if that does not work get back to us for more help

fat boy what type of internet connection do you have? and are you only getting this error on dedicated servers or any game available?
I cant use gamespy or ASE either - I always go to the codemasters/flashpoint chat page to get IP addresses of people running servers, and put the ip in manually in 'multiplayer'

Hi,
Check your direct x installation using dxdiag.exe
Test DirectPlay from the Network tab.
Try upgrading to DirectX 8.1
Good Luck,

Have you tried direct IP w/ someone else? What time zone are you in. I could try to walk you through a connection w/ me via ICQ or RW if you have that?

I used to get that problem when i updtaed my OS to Windows XP Pro. What happened was servers that had passwords, would give that error, instead of the old error of 'no password supplied'. Try connecting to servers without passwords - like NGI

the severs don't have a password on them http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

ok back
now that we rulled out game spy we have to rinstall your TC/IP
(ignore all others with coments like try direct IP, ASE DOES THAT, thats why I had you try it)
Direct X regardless of how it tests net working really does not help you in any way
when the guy installed his new OS it also reinstalled his TC/IP, that why he THINKS the OS solved his problem
so getting back to you TC/IP
we have to do the same for youwith out spending money lol
right click on Network Neighboorhood and hit properties
come back here and list every thing in the white box (you'll see things like adaptor, client ect.}
(note if you have done this then go ahead by your self and reinstall your net work)
after that we'll tell you how to remove the TC/IP and reinstall it
many times Net trouble is caused by corrupted TC/IP for heavy MP gamers

Yeah, that makes sense i suppose.
I fixed it by installing win2k service pack 2, and upgrading direct x at the same time.
I had thought it was probably the direct x upgrade that fixed it, but maybe installing the service pack also upgraded my TCP/IP, thereby fixing the problem....
Good Luck

I HAVE AN EXACT SAME PROBLEM HERE IN NEW ZEALAND! hahah, and i bought the game 2 days ago as well, and it still does not work! Same problem like yours, gives me the SAME connection error
My computer runs win2000pro, and i have tried everything, believe you me.
I dont sit behind any firewall or anything like that, but i do have a ADSL line and i use internal ADSL modem. (nokia ni200). I was thinking that the modem might be the problem in some ways under win2000, and that i need to make another OS like win98SE or XP (which i hate).
But seriously, anyone out there, any lead programers, or anyone! I bought this game FOR THE SOLEMN REASON TO PLAY ON THE NET (and also because the game is out of this world).
I tried logging onto any server, but i didint try direct i.p ( i dont have anyone to do it with). But in earlier days when i barrowed the game of my friend under win98SE everything worked just dandy (but i had a 56k modem back then..so...yeah)
Anyone? please please.

Disable connection sharing or any Lan. It should work then.
