The MercenaryS are waiting for a linux.
but we managed to share a windows root with another clan, so we got a ArmA server already running.
Our "Long-time-partner" Hosts only under Linux Architect, so You can Add Nighthuntersquad in this List : NHS (Comes)

three6mafia is waiting, were paying for a windows server but we'd of much preferred to use our linux box its costing us a small fortune which we struggle to pay per month but bis will release it when there ready - i think its quite a while off yet though.
yes it may be a while, however if there are 60 communities waiting for linux, it may put it into a different perspective from BI's point of view than if there was just 10
the more mp servers their are, the more likely the guys who buy the game will enjoy it and therefore the more sales BI will get

OFPHu community would be also much happier if we could switch back to use Linux server.

this list can only represent the fraction of people which do
visit the official forum.
even more this fraction concerning this topic is very low compared
to the overall number, as only very few mp people, essentially
(possible) server admins visit this place.
a game which is said to going strong in mp, even more with
ArmA's poor sp content, doesn't offer a linux server...
BI doesn't offer dedicated servers itself.
people have to organize them and pay for the servers themselves.
in OFP the ratio of linux server was easily over 50% - its
common to be even higher in other mp games.
(managed) windows servers are common to be more expensive
than linux / root servers (partially to the windows licensing costs).
there is no question about this. it's really sad why BI doesn't get it. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif
this just has to be prio 1, after getting the game to run at all.
if you don't have the skills or manpower, you just have to find
ways to get it.

X from the Night Watch gaming community is impatiently waiting for The Big Release, while using VMware. I'm currently trialling a spare rig (3800+, 2GB RAM) but until some proper Linux binaries and general dedicated server bugs/performance issues have been ironed out I'm not sure that I want to put this puppy (or an overhauled version) into a data center.
