Hi all

I found the servers up before the anouncement!

As Marek has anounced:
http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....6;&#top (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=72;t=55566;&#top)

There is now a dedicated server for 1.04 for the 505 players it is only for a week or so until the 1.05 server comes out then all the different versions will be sychronised but it shows just how good ArmA mp can be!

I had an excelent 3 hours on the Shark Server no crashes, no desynch, no lag just good solid gaming, smooth graphics, lots of shooting, big battles.

ArmA as it is supposed to be, lots more people playing. BIS seem to have sorted it.

If 1.05 is as much an advance as 1.04 ArmA is going to be the biggest game of the year.

Kind Regards Walker

Great to hear. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif When is the US release slated? It sounds like buying it early online will be worth it if 1.05 is good.

hi all

Woke up early this morning to play ArmA but the shark server was maxed out, should not have opened my big mouth.

That said I now see there is about 5 or 6 more 1.04 servers out there so today will be busy. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Got to go do my parents shopping they are not so well these days http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif but Sunday evening looks like it is going to be spent playing big ArmA battles.

ArmA with 1.04 is way better http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif cannot wait for the 1.05 patch the improvemnts are going to blow everyones mind.

Yep I've got the game, but only been able to play it briefly as i am uploading all 4.57 gig to my server http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif,been uploading just over 24hrs now, is there no-way BIS can host the file structure on a fast server so that we can pull the server files onto our dedicated boxes http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif

I'm doing the same m8. But have two servers to upgrade http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif I did find that the V1.04 server patch will work without the updated files if you don't use the verify signatures option in your config. I am running like this until the upload has finished. I haven’t had any crashes or connection problems so far. I hope this helps any other admins while they are uploading.

You lot of tempting me to put up a 1.04 public Dedi server. But considering I have a 1.02 german version installed on the dedi, I will wait until 1.05 (I need the patch files for 1.04) Which sounds like it will improve the game immensely.

My question about 1.04 dedi files. Are the weapon sounds and firing animations fixed? And do the Cobras actually fire on targets?

Hi all

There are more servers up. I even saw someone running a 60 person game and with LOW pings! Played for another 3 hours.

Big Ass Urban CTF it was, loads of us there people using coms to make plans, loads of fun.

1.04 dedicated server rocks! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

No, we all know the very same. It is announced but somehow lower prioritised than the modding-tools are - my guess. I pray for a contemporary release, since that vmware-armawin32server-combi is kind of feeble here.

VMWare or wine wouldn't work at all on my Linux server because I'm not running XWindows on it. I have an agreement with my ISP to keep it as clean as humanly possible to reduce attack vectors to the bare minimum. Since they're letting me keep it in their computer room and giving me network connectivity for free, I kinda want to stay on their good side. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif

Man, if I have to consider putting a GUI on my gameserver just to run Armed Assault, my clan will just have to find another game to play. This is a HUGE dealbreaker for me. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif And I love everything else that I see about this game! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/banghead.gif

Marek did say something at the french fan day:

Quote[/b] ]Armed Assault.info : and what about Linux game server ?

Marek Spanel : As I have previously said, we are already working on it and it will take ... 2, 3, 4 months to be done.

ok Ive Uploaded it and currently have a server running the 1.04 version pretty well (38 hours to upload http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif), my hosts are also running a server, and they have decided to sell servers by slots aswell, which is pretty cool if some guys just want to play in the same team but cant afford a dedi box of their own, any way these guys are pretty cool ,and the servers are top spec, so check em out if you need a server

hope i will be able to patch these up to 1.05 without having the serial key in the registry  http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif
