Trouble with first main mission

Hi, Hope someone can help.

I've just started ArmA and I have a problem with Beaten Dog (the first big mission). I've completed the sub-missions (sniping a convoy and destroying armour/stealing plans) and I'm now holding off an assault from the enemy.

Everything goes swimmingly until I get told to pull out and board a 4x4 at which point every team member turns up and dutifully gets in the vehicle apart from number 9.

We then sit there until get bored listening to a coversation something like this:

1: 9 get in the 4WD
9: Roger
...wait 10 seconds or so ...
9: Where are you?
1: [transmits coordinates]
...wait 10 seconds or so ...
9: Negative

4WD moves 5 yards and then stops

1: 9 get in the 4WD
9: Roger
...wait 10 seconds or so ...
9: Negative

While this is providing me with plenty of time to contemplate the maening of life, the universe and everything it isn't leading to a rewarding gaming experience.

Anyone else had this problem. Any idea where number 9 might be?

In the mean time I'll be playing Rainbow Six: Vegas until the patch comes out.

i had another problem in that mission: i was shot in the leg and thus couldn't move very quickly. it took me a while to get to the 4x4 but before i could get close enough to board it, they drove off!  http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif

then i had to crawl/sprint all the way through the town to the next RV point. fortunately, i met a medic half way.

this was one of the better missions so far.

i have no idea where your missing squad mate might be. has he been killed?

Seems I get nother problem in this mission too.

Every body gets ordered to board the 4WD except me ! When I found the 4WD, I got ordered to get in a static M2. I tried to board the jeeps nevertheless, but I couldn't, as if they were locked to me.

After 10 minutes of frustrated waiting, trying and searching, I finally withdrew alone, on foot, to the the town to the south. And there, the mission magically ended.

Quite a few missions seem to be messed up like this.

Actually ran into that same problem myself, number 9 was stuck in the tent, ran upto him, shot him then continued on to the 4x4 and drove off to the next way point as normal.

Seems there is a bug in the path finding for that unit.

After a while, i stopped coz, no one's firing at all!

Restarted like a bunch of times than in the 6th restart, they open fire, MIRACLE! but than we get report the enmies are flanking us, off to the land rover and than we're waiting and promptly number 9 doesn't get in, got out, sees soldier stuck in shed, kills and mission ends, all objectives not completed. WTF!
