Hello
I have make 3 missions (I have modified (Sector Control: Sandy Dunes (20)) a Matt Rochelle SC mission thanks to him)
it is BF2 like Gameplay
there 4 sectors by map and you must cature them in order
- you can choose your class
- there is a vehicule respawn script

O yes i liked these missions. I have wanted BF2 style missions in AA for ages(not the bunnyhoping etc the node capture style with Armeda better AI). Could you make it so you can controll a whole squad and that the AI use vehicles. Also a progressive spawn point when you gain flags would be good.

I have made a light version of dune mission whit less script
and have made groupes;so it is possible to control IA now
5 squad off 3 players by team
I test it tonight and put a link here
for the progressive spawn point when you gain flags
it is not difficult to make

Is it possible to play this single player. Like start up a server and play by myself like with some cti?
for the moment AI dont move
I'm working to add AI patrol and droping of parachute when the main base is captured , truk convoi to defend advenced bases
the missions will be a mixte of coop & C&H

has anybody a mission that is similar to this but with Full AI that works against you and same side group controll. I want to play co-op against the AI.

I back for post my update
I have made a lot off modification
now this is a mix between BF2 and CTI
-2 team of 9 players (SLA / US)
-3 squads by team
-4 sectors guarded by independants to clean and capture by order
-squads leaders spawn on the main base
-groups members could spawn on the leader
for the moment I have just upated 1 mission

O yes i like this. I have been wanting somthing like this for a while. could you add a cobra and the ah-6 to another mission. And perhpas a few more ai that can be controlled. Or perhpas i may try this myself. ANother idea how about civs in it that if you kill your score goes down!!
Gave this a go online worked well as far as i played about 30 mins

One of my biggest hopes was that BIS would look at the battlefield series and use it as a template for Arma's multiplayer. Unfortunatly that didnt happen but this is a good start by the community.
I personally would like to see smaller maps based around this kind of gameplay i.e. BF2's Karkland map, with no air units and very limited viechles in general.
Anyway keep up the good work if this can be implemented sucessfully it will be awesome!

no panic...the ArmA editor is made for creating any maps we want.
im trying to make BF2 style maps in the near future, just need the scripts for it first!

If you ask me, ArmA is strong for large scale (large view distance, high number of AI and hoefully players possible), so we should expand on this instead of copying what already exists.
We should play on ArmA strong points, otherwise, what is the point?
Im already making a BF2 style map with limited vehicles. In a Open Big Open Area. For 100 Players.

I have hadded more vehicle and delete the vehicle respawn script
this script is bugged ,I found it in this forum
I will put a new version next week
and I have added some nice gameplay improvement
take a flag offer new vehicule now (like combat heli or tank only in colline map for the moment)
there is now 4 player by squad
and missions dont crashe now

this is good - but please could somebody make a mission that is almost exactly the same layout as bf2 - ie cap points vehicle respawns and with AI. I have nearly lured some people away from BF2 but they alwasy say, "not enough action" "too slow" "wheres the vehicles" etc if i can tempt them away from bf2 it will be good as i am fed up with playing bf2 in my group of players.
With your maps i have a problem after the first 4 players in the list the rest of the players dont spawn with the weapons they select. I suggest you look at my new map i just released because i spent hours and hours making it so all players after the first 4 would be able to select there weapon. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

I agree that this is definatly Arma's strongpoint and I love the large scale battles in both Single play and co-op missions. However in multiplayer PvP missions I often end up not seeing any other players for long periods of time running around aimlessly trying to find the action until it becomes tedious and I eventually Quit to find a smaller map.
Im not saying I want the game to be just like BF2, I hate the unrealistic physics engine and damage system but I definatly think Armas multiplayer could benefit from more focused fighting areas, progressive respawns and smaller map layouts with defined choke points. OFP + BF2 would have been my perfect game, realistic, yet fun at the same time.
I suppose what I'm getting at really is that I was hoping for a more polished multiplayer game from BIS in general this time round, and when last year I received an email from Codemasters / BIS asking how important the multiplayer section of the game was I was expecting that they would put more resources into this area, especially considering this was what kept the OFP community alive for so long.
Sorry if this sounds negative, I just want a realistic fast paced shooter thats easy to join and fun at the same time. Arma was going to be it but hasn't quite got there yet. Hopefully with good scripts and user missions we will get somewhat closer.

I have changed class by weapons box
my last version work well with that , I have tested the last dune map 6 hours with 18 players and no probleme
