the advantage guerrilla fighters have is that they are able to blend into the population at will. without weapons in their hands they are hard to ID as enemies.

so is there a way to make a 2nd class of the civilians in ArmA. a class that looks exactly like the default civilians but can be set as hostile to blufor/opfor/ independent? would be great for drug war type scenarios or insurgents taking cover among civilians.

it would be important to do this as an addon folder so as not to muck with the default pbo's.

any help appreciated.

CreateUnit / Join them into a GUER group and use the setFriend command to make GUER friendly to EAST and EAST friendly to GUER.

When the action should start use both commands again to make them enemies.

I don't think it's possible to invent a 'custom' side via a config.

i tried this in the init field of civilian. but west soldiers did not open fire on him and he just ran away.

Maybe because you set Resistance as friendly to West in the editor settings ? Imo you can&#39;t &#39;overwrite&#39; a preset friendly status via setFriend and change it to enemy, can ye ?  http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/icon_rolleyes.gif

i found another way from OFP mission & editing FAQ on biforum from JW. works a charm and was easy as pie.

Guys, I think this belongs in the mission editing thread.

But, you can do the above or you can open your mission.sqm and change any insurgents&#39; sides to something else (for example CIV to EAST).
