I did a bit of research.. it turns out that Hind is flown by the US army "red hats".. a group of polits that fly Russian aircraft for the other to practice against and learn the tactice and atributes.. the 2 in the picture (apache and hind) are getting serviced..

and as for the hinds rotors.. they are being replaced... its a long know problem with the hind.. the chopper is so heavy that under hard manuevers it flexes its blades so much that eventually they start developing hairline cracks and weakin.. in development several crashed from failures of the rotor blades, but the USSR never did develop a set that were both both strong and flexable enough to not do this..

BTW the us has MANY hinds, migs and even SU-27s.. it buys them (under shady circumstances sometimes im sure)..

is that a iraqi flag on the side of the hind (between the cockpit and the cargo doors) btw judging by all the water on the ground and what looks to be some kinda vacume cleaner (i think) to the left of the appache, it just looks like they are cleaning the choppers

I know Y the hind has flat tires&#33; No one in Iraq know how to fly it (used as a name to scare the neighbour country only) so when they heard the US coming they soldier slashed the tires thinking it will give the US a hard time to push the girl to base. BUT NO, a friendly russian soldiers who is an EX-hind pilot helped the US boys to fly her home.

Those pictures go against the sheer coolness of the hind:

a) it looks crap with a tacky paint job (no animal snarling type mouth thing either)
b) it looks smaller than the apache (and much less scary thanks to point a)
c) it isn&#39;t flying and racing the apache
d) it has an american maintenence crew (obvious since they are mostly half naked)

if you actually love the hind as many people do, you will replace that picture

I never heard about a AH-64 shoot down any aircraft... but a Mi-24 Hind, already shood down a F-4 Phanton in Iraq - Iran war.........
