View Full Version : A problem with Anistrophic Filtering

It's nothing major, but it's kinda annoying me. I've noticed this on some of the textures:

Here are my settings:

All the stuff like AA, AF, Shaders, etc are set to High in the game. I've tried changing them around and the problem doesn't go away. Obviously turning off AF fixes the problem, but I wanna keep AF on.
I'm using the latest official drivers, 1.02 patch, etc. It happened before the patch as well, so it's not the new patch.

Looks like you have the anisotropic mip filter optimization setting enabled, though you have it missing from your list.

Yep I've tested it awhile ago and the result is the same as the above pics which causes the detail texture to obviously not blend in smoothly.

I had this problem too: look at this topic (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=68;t=55223;hl=nistelrooy).
I don't know how I (almost) resolved it, but try to turn your aniso filter in your Nvidia control panel into "controlled by application". I have always this problem, but it seems less strong than at a few days ago.
What's your graphic card ?

Yeah thanks, I did have the anisotropic mip filter optimization on. Changing it to OFF fixed it.

It's a simple driver setting like Kegetys said above.
You need to have advanced settings selected on your nVidia control panel and check wether Anisotropic mip filter optimization is off or on, having it on will lower the texture quality like the above pics.
