Getting an AI soldier to use the laser

I'm a bit bugged down here, I can't get the AI to select it's laser designator and paint a spot for me. I just can't get it to work at all, it's probably a really basic thing that I don't know about :P.

Depends what is is. I havent tried the Laser designators in ArmA but in ofp if they see a tank they will 'paint' it automatically then if an A10 is on the map they will blow it up.

However if is a bridge or an empty object then this is where invisible targets will come in use.

If the AI has no other use you can removeallweapons except the laser (or removeallweapons and add the laser) and then use dofire on a target. Not very fancy but should work.
