Crash With multiplayer

whenever i try and host a multiplayer game (LAN or online) the game simply crashes to the desktop and asks me if i want to send an error report to microsoft.
it starts to load when i click host, flickers for a little while with the loading bar and the arma load screen, then my desktop just appears.

i havn't the foggies idea why its doing this at all.

Any help would be greatly greatly apreciated.

System:
AMD 2500+ 64 around a 2.2 ghz i think
Nvidia Gforce 6600GT
1 gig DDR ram
Windows XP
