Hi,
Many may know us from OFP times. We are back for ArmA.
You may discuss our progress here.
Info:
BWMod Official Website (http://www.bwmod.net)
Our BIS Wiki Site (http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Bundeswehr_Mod)
For all who don't know us :
The 'Bundeswehr Mod (BWMod) is dedicated to creating accurate addons of the german armed forces (Bundeswehr) for use within Operation Flashpoint: Resistance and Armed Assault.
Since the mods founding in 2001, over 50 addons were released for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. On July, 13th 2006, the BWMod ceased creating addons for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance and is now focusing on Armed Assault.
Our current plans include the creation of a fullmod as well as providing west-german addons for the Germany 1985 project, whereat the team is proud to be a part of.
Check out our Biki Site for background info concerning our Armed Assault plans
Greetings Chris
Cant wait to see you in AA.
BW mod stuff is top notch http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

It's good to know you guys are still commited to addon making. I've always thought the BWmod released some of the finest addons to date for Flashpoint. With the improved textures for ArmA and your ever growing knowledge of modelling i'm deffinitley looking forward to any of your work. And i can't wait to see your UH1D ingame as it seems like i've been waiting for that helo for a very long time http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

Nice to see BW-Mod on ArmA http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
Looking very good!
Keep up the goodwork.
Maybe BW-Mod and OFrP sit down and talk on doing franco-german brigade one day http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif
One question: I thought BW-MOD was changing to Germany 1985...
Are you two different mods? Are you exporting ofp BW-MOD units to ARMA, and then move to Germany 1985?
Can you clarify the situation? Thanks
Hey,
thanks for the great job you have done this far. I hope you can keep working on BW-MOD as I really enjoyed your addons in OFP and would love to enjoy your "fullmod" with ArmA.
I have one wish for you. I am naturally a big fan of FDF Mod. For OFP I created a mission (not released to public consumption) using FDF Mod 1.4 and some BW-MOD addons. It would be very important that I could keep on using BW-MOD addons together with FDF Mod. Do you have any plans to cooperate with other mods like the FDF Mod to ensure that your addons can be used at the same time? It would also be great if your addons would fit configuration-wise to the Russian/Finnish units that FDF Mod is supposedly working on to release for ArmA, to ensure balanced gameplay.
Thanks,
Baddo.

As far as I know Germany 1985 is a different project. BWMod build the current and modern german army. Germany 1985 is a joint venture between different mods (e.g. BWMod, Combat!, ...). For Germany 1985 they produce the vehicles and soldiers in 1985.
I would really appreciate a franco-german brigade by OFrP and BWMod http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

ah great to hear BWMod is back onboard for ArmA !
cant wait to get to use the leopard again.
Germany has some kickass hardware,I love the Dingo and the Leopard.
I had lots of fun with all the Bwmod addons in Ofp and I hope they'll port all their stuff to Arma.
One question: I thought BW-MOD was changing to Germany 1985...

We're not changing to anything but are working on both mods.
However we're currently focusing a bit on modern german stuff while the tools are "not released" yet.
I have one wish for you. I am naturally a big fan of FDF Mod. For OFP I created a mission (not released to public consumption) using FDF Mod 1.4 and some BW-MOD addons. It would be very important that I could keep on using BW-MOD addons together with FDF Mod. As we are doing our own total conversion, we can't guarantee any compability with the FDFMod. Actually, since we are also going to change the core configs of Armed Assault to use e.g. realistic values for damage and armor, it will most likely not be possible to use both mods together.
TeRpEnTiN,
oh no http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif
Is it not possible to make the configuration files so that you achieve the same result but with independent addon files?
I am quite sure that both FDF Mod (huge success in OFP) and BW-MOD will achieve great popularity in Armed Assault too. It is not good if they can't be used together http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif as that excludes a lot of interesting mission and campaign setups.
If you do the total conversion mod with main config changes, as you have planned, could you then also consider creating independent addons out of the stuff you put into the total conversion mod?
I think different mod teams could cooperate on this issue. Would it not be possible to create core configuration files that somehow fit into both, FDF and BW mods? As in, for FDF Mod addons use these core settings and for BW-MOD addons use these other core settings, from the same file? Or just use the same settings for both?
I am just worried that I can't play my two favourite mods together, like I could do in OFP. I think many many other people too are worried of this very same issue.
BR,
Baddo.

All we have now from FDF in ArmA is their soundmod - i think+hope they will make an full conversion too. Let's wait and see what all these ModTeams can do - better campaign with good storyline, "real" characters... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Where's that? I've only seen the US sniper model released, and that has 'un-bloused' trousers and gloved hands.
Troops look fantastic anyway Terp. I bloody loved every BWMod addon for OFP and I can assure you I'll enjoy the work you do in ArmA.

Maybe its a new model they made given the information that people are putting onthe forums and various sites. Its not too hard.
When it comes to modelling you can make everything thats in ArmA now with the old OFP tools. It just takes some time and effort to work out the configs and named selections. The BWMod has some very talented members.
You can get the named selections form reading the ascii text in a Hex Editor. The config bones & animation system has been explained on the Biki. If you are willing to invest some time, experiment and research some stuff then it is possible to make new content with "The Tools".

how goes the progress with this mod
We're searching for someone willing to create crew animations for our vehicles (static, including death anim) as well as importing them into the game.
Our plans are to complete animations for two vehicle within up to three months (or more, if you want to), and work may be continued on other vehicles later on - if you're still interested.
First vehicles will be two tracked vehicles, including the Leopard 2.
If you'd like to volunteer and lend a helping hand, please let me now via PM (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=MSS;CODE=04;MID=84-1048599799) on the BIS forums or on our forums (http://ofp.gamepark.cz/_hosted/bwmod/forums).
Cheers, TeRp
P.S.: If you're capable doing anything related to addon editing and would like to help us out every now and then, feel free to drop me a PM, too. (not including beta testing & mission designing)
damn good news, you are still living and willing to proceed.
best news in 2008.

Quote[/b] ]The following BW addons used in this teaser are not (yet http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif ) related to BWMod:
-------------------------------
- ViconX Units & MG3
- LLW Pzfst3
-------------------------------
Other non related Addons:
- 6th Sense Tracers
- Schmalfelden Map by Nicholas Bell
- Maddmatts FX
- David Marwicks Smoke FX
So I think the G36 are the BIs ones.

This mod is a great one.
For OFP they had EXCELLENT addons, and after seeing the
preview videos its going to be great in arma aswell.
The bolkow will be sweet! Lovely little helicopter!
It is looking very promising, no doubt it will turn out as good as your OFP releases.

I think, they are in contact with OPK-mod team. They posted a pic of the M84 some times ago, which was a model from OPK, but I dunno if it belonged to the BF:V or BF:2 version http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

as far as I know, some or maybe all active members/modders of the bwmod-team are also working for/together with the OPKmod-team for BF2.
I think this gives hope for the BWmodification for ARMA, because the guys of OPK did a great job - their mod is the only motivation for me to play BF2. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/inlove.gif

We are indeed working together , they got some of our units and we got some of theirs. So far it worked well. But this does _not_ imply anything concerning ArmA BW Stuff.
Hooked on all things BW-MoD ever since that SAR huey for OFP
it came with a test mission that included " I need a hero " song playing during the action ... top stuff http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

To be perfectly honest , PoE does not fulfill our quality standards in terms of accuracy. So , no , we do not cooperate with them (yet).

look what I have found on utube!
Wiesel goes ArmA! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif
OPF Wiesel MK to ArmA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3QCrFuaqGk&feature=user)
I have to admit, that in the first video the model of the MK looks really crappy but I think in the second one, he really has made some progress!
as you can see here:
OPF Wiesel to ArmA2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtX34HYP8v8&feature=related)
as it is said in the end "the tracks are not workng right" and we havent seen the ToW or the MK shooting (so I think the animation is not working) - but I think the different models of the Wiesel look quite nice.
okay, my quality standards are not that high (because my PC is really crap and ArmA looks like a better OFP on my computer) and I would love to see the Wiesel in the ArmA world, so I´m very happy that I found this video but its sad to see that this video was posted more than one year ago and nothing happend since then.
p.s. @<hidden> bwmod team - I know you dont have enough modders, so the last sentence was not a reproach! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
