Ping?

quick question. how do i see the connection's ping in multiplayer network choice screen? all i see under the ping header at the momenet is ticks if the connection is good (best i've got is 3 ticks so far) or no ticks if connection is shit.

is there a setting that allows me to see the numerical value of the ping becuase what do three ticks represent actually?
