I have the CZ version of ArmA with version 1.01 and the CZ to English patch. I have a strange performance bug where the game will freeze for around 5 seconds everytime i change screen eg from ingame to map, or from the title screens to the main menu.

I tried installing the game on our other comp and it worked fine.

My comp specs:
2x 7800GT SLi
2GB DDR2 RAM
Intel 3.0Mhz 64Bit
PCI Express motherboard SLi
Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard

I thought it may be the Nvidia drivers so i update them but it made no difference. If some one has any idea of why the game is doing this i would appreciate any help as it is really annoying having to wait everytime i want to pause or resum the game etc.

Thanks

i can confirm this problem. i have it in the same situations you described and regulary every 2-3 minutes when i am in the mission editor. one thing i noticed is that my network adapter get accessed
during that lag, disabling the network adapter didnt stopped the lag, so it is more a result then the problem that the adapter is triggered. wich version of the game do you have?

edit:
p4 478 sis chipset
2 gb ddr2 ram
nvidia 7800gs agp version
onboard sound
the network device that get triggered is a usb w-lan stick

Maybe that helps you, I had the same problem in OFP, small lags about 2-6 seconds.

The Problem was that my 1gb corsair XMS ram got too hot. The ram overheated and the lag was there... When i put a fan in front of the ram the lag was gone...

DDR2 is also getting very hot... so maybe touch the ram while youre playing if its getting really warm... or just put a fan in front of it.

Wlan sometimes can cauz lag and make system interrupts... if you use windows standard wlan programm, it tries every few minutes to find and connect to the best Wlan. maybe its gone if you turn of the auto scan and connection.

Hope this can help!

I doubt it would be a cooling issue, we have a really good case with lots of cooling. What is wlan though?

Thanks

Don't worry about it, I reformatted and now its fine. It looks like it was the motherboard drivers as they were an older version, so i put on the new ones and its fine now

Thanks for the help anyway guys
