ARMA has a problem with the 93.71 nVidia driver.

The driver gives a performance boost and everything runs fine with this one problem.

Whenever you load a map the screen will show flicker so you can't see anything. This will go away if you ALT TAB out and back into the game. You have to do this every time the game loads though.

I`m using the same driver for my GeForce 7600GS 512MB without that problem.

I am also using the same driver with a XFX 7800GT 256mb, without that problem, maybe its another part of your hardware?

Always post your system specs when you file a bug report.

Hint: Write it into your signature.

Have you patched ArmA to version 1.01?

I'll post here....as good as any thread with graphics problems http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

I have a problem where after about 15 - 20 min I start getting LOD problems, and objects engaging their stealth (there one min gone the next, then back again) then ultimately the game crashes to desktop with a rez of 640 x 400 4bit colour...Not pretty I can tell you http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

I do not suffer these problems in any other game I run only in ArmA.

The card temp gets no higher than 73

All drivers are the most up to date.

Any chance BI can check to see if they have a conflict with Nvidia drivers on higher spec cards especially SLI?

Win XP Pro SP2
Asus A8N32 SLI Delux
AMD 64 4800x2
2GB Corsair Memory
GeForce 7950 GX2 1Gb Memory
NEC DVD Writer
H2o Cooled System (Not OC yet)

Edit: Also tried the above settings set to low with a rez of 800 x 600, although it takes longer to throw a tiff, it still does http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

This got to be an typo, no?

View Distance: 24100m

10000m is max as far as the options go in game settings.

And if there is any way, you could have set the game to
*even attempt* to display anything out to this range, you
really do not have to wonder whatsoever, you got problems.
Besides;..whats the point?

Reset your viewdistance to 1200 for testing and see, if the problem goes away.

Yes;..you have *got* an powerful system!
But even with this specs, you cant prevent ArmA to
*really* freak out, if you push too far.

The same applied to OFP, once viewdistance was set beyond
certain limits, and the engine is not that different.

Just try to imagine, how many details the engine got to
juggle, the farther you set viewdistance.
This is asking for trouble, methinks. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

you were correct it was a typo http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

I have run it at 1200 with same settings listed above and it still did it, even when the settings were set to low it still did it albeit it seemed to last a little longer than when everything was set to high, it went through the exact same process of LOD issues and stealth mode for objects then it crashes.

i dont have this problem!
GFX Driver: 93.71
Chipsetdiver: 6.86

Amd 64 4000+ @2,7
Asus A8n SLI Deluxe
1gb Corsair XMS
Point of View 7800GTX

Google after coolbits, and turn off the pre rendering! This gives your Nvidia gfx a performance push up to 10%. I had this problem in some games. after turning off the pre rendering the problem was gone.
