As ArmA is released here in Germany today and half of the team already received the SE, it's a good point to start a new era.

[ 30.11.06 / Farewell Operation Flashpoint! ] (http://www.mapfact.net/include.php?path=content/newseng.php)

Let's start with ArmA now. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

FYI: mapfact's priority for the first weeks/months is mission design, addons are to come later. Another workshop is planned.

With me the same http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Here a set of pictures of an early version of the XCam.
In the pictures are the pre-defined color sets to be recognized, which can be selected by pressing a key http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

In addition own individual color sets can be defined.

Is it possible to make an out of the box clean alluminun version...
could be used for something like this...

anti-ram vehicle protection (http://www.themetalith.com/)

once the new tools come out the specular map could give it the shiny look that is seen with the metalith version

G'day mapfact team!

Firstly, thanks for your quality OFP addons over the years. I know that your ArmA creations will become some of the most heavily used addons around. Because of this, may I make one request early on in proceedings - could you please consider toning down the saturation of the colours of your textures? They are sometimes un-naturally vivid. Please take this as a complement as to the overall quality of your work, they are otherwise excellent!

Gentlemen, as a result of the public interest, we squeezed our informants so that we finally can release all data and facts about the helicopters you probably have read about recently.

In fact we do not only release information about it but the MAP_Air addon itself as done by Marco-Polo-IV. Specific and extended information about the choppers is to be found at the download site (http://mapfact.net/include.php?path=content/download_eng.php&contentid=589). Have fun!

You all are welcome to our forums (http://www.mapfact.net/forum_arma/viewtopic.php?t=446) to discuss the choppers. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/welcome.gif

Technical information about Marco-Polo-IVs research and findings will be published in the next days in the Biki. So please stay tuned. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I just watched this video and it had me wonder about the following points:

1. Use of the AIM-9X missile. I do not believe this missile is being used in any shape or form on the Apache. Older versions of Sidewinders have been tried but I rarely see them on operational machines. If you are going to mount sidewinders could we please have Mike's or Lima's and not the (IMO quite rediculous) X-rays? Rather then sidewinders I would like stinger pods mounted to the wingtips as that is a more common loadout then sidewinders. About the 6 sidewinder loadout ... sure its possible but I don't think this loadout was ever flown on an operational sortie.

2. The Maverick, Sure it can carry a maverick but how often does it do that operationally? Not a lot I believe. I think you'd rather take 4 hellfires on that station as opposed ***to the one Maverick.

3. Did I miss it in the video or wont there be an extended range version with the droptanks? It would be a cool feature (and more realistic ***then say the all AIM-9X load out)

4. Do you guys need any pictures of a dutch Apache? I took some close up images of one at the last airshow near where I live. I could put them online if you want too http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Tschuss!

EDIT: Here is one of the images click me (http://supah.chaotic.nl/foto/160606-Open%20Dag%20EHGG/wingtip.jpg) It's not a full walkaround but it has good images of this side http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Hello http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

The DAC is a very complex script project and the possibilities are much increased.
Therefore, I fear that I have not eliminated all errors.

Almost every evening, I make small tests to detect errors. Sometimes with success http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

If the DAC is released, it is a beta version.
This means that there may be errors can occur. I hope that there are not too many http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif

Unfortunaltely I'm such a stickler for precision of unit placement that I can't play any of my own maps because I know (roughly) where all OPFOR units and vehicles are placed. It was the same for me with OFP, however with DAC I can play my maps without my enjoyment suffering from too much inside knowledge. Thanks Silola and Mapfact, I anxiously await release.

Hello boys!

I saw that the site of Mapfact.net is planned for 11/07, but has not yet been released v2.0.

I wonder if this is already ready beautiful project of Mapfact.

I am super anxious to use it.

If it would be ready for the public then most probably the mapfact site would be one of the first to tell. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I am eagerly waiting for DAC... I have been creating a dynamic mission which has evolved into a very complicated moving war. To really finish this mission, I need DAC2.

Currently, I have lost all interest in ArmA. I hope 1.09 and DAC will bring it back from the shelf where it stands.

Hehe http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

All I really ever wanted for ArmA was 3 things - great big smoke, great blood spatter and DAC. This week will see the completion of the trilogy http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Did the smoke myself, SNKMAN and Sickboy kindly provided the blood and now great battlefield complexity will soon be available. I am VERY excited by this. The chaotic (but intelligent) nature of DAC battlefields means that tall/big volume smoke is a great way to get a feel for what's happening at distance (hotspots to be either avoided or seeked out for example) and the directional blood spatter is great for working out from what direction you're suddenly taking fire from http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif (also allows for a little "forensic" work to be done when coming across a bunch of dead people.)

Oh, and I hear that DAC will have AI smokeshell logic. Niiiiiiice, made a little viewblock doohickey just for that http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Gonna be a great Christmas http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/thumbs-up.gif

You forgot Tracers Markwick (;))
But you are right. I also am waiting like nuts on DAC. I tried creating my own copy, ala AI-Manager, but it never reached the plateau DAC resides on and after the first news that DAC v2 was getting back on track I decided to abondon the project and wait for DAC and write my mission framework around it...
The day it gets released will become a holyday http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif

Hello,

I wish you all a merry Christmas too. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

What the birds tell you, is totally nonsense.

In addition, the DAC is not released for Arma, but for Crysis.
You know, better engine, better unit control, better group management,
better scripting facilities, etc.....blahblahblah

DAC for Crysis 0,01 % done ;-)

Greeting
Silola

(DAC for ArmA 99,9% done) http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/xmas_o.gif

Crysis is the future of everything. Even Wikipedia will be adapted to Crysis.

Well, apart from this : can you give us some insight of the upcoming DAC ? How is development going and what kind of features shall we wait for ?

All will be revealed soon enough.

I must have a comment here but what ive tested/seen is neverbefore been done with such complexity in ofp/arma and the easyness of use anyone and everyone should be-able to use it with no problems. And as usualy it will come with some very very detailed guides on how to use.

Bring on DAC 2.0 http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif

ArmA 2 is around the corner and as you can see we have renewed our homepage.

After the change from OFP to ArmA we just did a little facelift but now we found it might be the time for a completely new appearence. Surely you will get used to the new look quickly. Or does anybody miss the old design of the mapfact homepage of the year 2002?

Many menues remained similar but are arranged in a different order. Here you will find ArmA 2 content exclusively. Maybe there will be a little OFP 2 corner, too. Of course we still keep our OFP and ArmA works available. For this reason we didn't shut our old homepage off but moved it to the domain www.Mapfact-Archiv.net.
