My view on the 3LGN.

Why do I enjoy staying with the 3LGN?

I enjoy being a 3rd Legion member because we play games every night and even during the day, we train three times a week and the other members are nice guys who are serious in game but relaxed whilst not so this creates a nice atmosphere, in game we play with radio procedures and also tactics which help us stay alive in game plus we are trained radio procedures from a real Royal Army serviceman.

If you join I'm sure you will enjoy it too, we will take you through basic training during your probationary period which consists of 4weeks just to check if you are right for the 3LGN, we also play with another OFPR clan which is the International Force (IF) which is an Australian clan, I seriously advise the IF clan if you are Australasian due to time zones, they are a group of nice guys.

I have created the unofficial 3LGN website so if you would like to take a look:
http://www.freewebs.com/3lgn
Here you will find much more information on the 3lgn information.

Here is the link for the official 3LGN website so feel free to take a look at this aswell:

Many thanks for taking your time and reading my post and I hope we see you soon at the 3LGN HQ.

Up for a challenge?.

Yes, you are reading another clan recruitment post but maybe you are one of the few who are looking for a new clan, so keep reading. If you're already in a clan then please leave the comments which usually occur in most recruitment topics in this forum out of this topic please, if you want to comment do so privately via my e-mail; mickpearcey@<hidden>

We (the membership), of the 3rd legion believe in playing in a realistic and challenging manner. Our missions are designed to incorporate more then the bog standard "let's go and shoot some Russians." We apply tactics and techniques (developed from our training system) to the execution of these missions.

You will find with some clans that have adapted a form of hierarchy that their game-play is focused around the application of rank, the chain of command and the use of structure, does "true" friendship emerge from this system or is it rather the "adjustment" to knowing someone from what they are and aren't allowed to say?

The majority membership originally came from the [5th] (5th division) clan... Realising that cracks had appeared in certain aspects a new level of system was needed to be used. In the 3rd legion we primarily believe that friendship and teamwork is more important than the mission completion, if we fail a mission - we do so as a team. You will often find that when we're not playing games we are on teamspeak chatting, sharing interests and generally getting better acquainted with the other clan members with our "laddish humour."

I guess you'd like to hear about some of the tour's of duty we operate in, well in accordance with the operations of the French Foreign Legion (whom we attempt to operate as close as the game allows us too), we operate in a range of locations and climates. We have a range of missions ranging from single-objective to open ended missions - each with specific aspects designed to challenge the legionnaire.

How do we integrate new recruits into our system? Simply so, we induct them into a selection process where the recruit is placed on probation for one month. In that time they complete a training program and then at the end of the month stand before legion HQ either with a green card welcoming them as a full legionnaire or a red card with dismissal from the legion.

What do we look for in recruits?
*Respectable characters - Characters who are not going to cause trouble
*Maturity
*Players who can have a laugh
*Players who show initiative
*Players who are willing to learn and ascend
*Players who want to take a serious approach to OFP but *have fun at the same time

Briefly summed up our training program includes;
*Individual movement training
*Squad movement training
*Weapon handling - both rifle, explosives and static
*Basic driving and handling of vehicle
*Airborne training

Aspects of our training have been improved by ex-service men however we are always looking to make things better.

We're a British clan but we are always welcoming players from other countries, currently we have members from;
*United Kingdom
*Australia
*United States of America
*Belgium
*Holland
*Norway

So if you still can't find an excuse not to, give in and join. The allure of the Legion awaits!
