I may try to download it from winMX....1.4gig's......2 CD's

No. It's a WW2 mod for Quake III. Very unrealistic and also very bad. I especially liked the way that you can fire a Panzerschreck (practically a rocket launcher) 5 millimeters away from a wall and lose 10 health. I also liked the way they had huge bushes obstructing the areas you're not supposed to go to.

i like the way 4 guys can wipe out an entire german company

Jan 22 2002, 20:22
What sounds like it sucks about it is how it says the way the scripting is done when it&#39;s someones time to die they will die no matter what...so the second time around it will be pretty much the same.....

yep, and RedStorm has it and has completed it in 3 days&#33;&#33;

too short and unrealistic for my liking http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

What&#39;s cool is I hear if you throw a gernade at them they will pick it up and throw it back...and if you throw one into a large group one will throw himself onto the gernade to protect everyone else.....

I have it downloading right now....trading through FTP so who ever said file sharing sucks.... http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Jsut played the demo and wasnt too impressed with the whole "Distract that tank with your panzershreck&#33;"
The nyou shoot it once and it says "Tank 80%"
then you shoot it again and again taking off 20% each time etc. Very arcadey.
Just seemed like wolfenstein really, but personally I didnt think it looked as good.

Medal of Honor ownz, I play it with Redstorm online now, the Beach landing RULES, only thing MoH doesn&#39;t have is gore, but i don&#39;t think that is necessary for this game, it&#39;s allready better then games like DoD etc. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

MOH is fun for a while. Blasting nazis is always fun, but after the part where you blasted nazi nr.100.000.000.000, it gets boring. The effects are great though, indeed germans throw back grenades and jump on them to save the life of others. When you shoot a german, most of the time he isnt dead. He falls to the ground (while still firing), looks around dizzy and tries to get up. Thats about around the point i bash his head in with a luger. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
The game indeed isnt foccused on realism. Just arcade shooting, which isnt all that bad in a gameworld where everything is concentrated on realism these days. Nice little by-the-side game. I wouldnt buy it though, it got it from w/a/r/e/z, cuz i lost interest after 5 days. Waiting for DoD2.0&#33;&#33;

When i played MOHAA multiplayer, it was nice as it played just like half-life. Stupid was that the sniper rifle is very very steady, so you always die by snipers in multiplayer. The singleplayer campaign sucks. It his some great effects though, but it stinks. It is fun watching people run away from grenades, but they also do this in RTCW. RTCW is a very good game as i played time over time again. And the zombies DO NOT have Nazi symbols on them.

Mr. Big gun, you are pretty stupid to come here and brag about how you are going to download a new game from the web instead of buying it because someone out there said it was not so good. So you do this every time you want a game? http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

If you want a game that bad, BUY IT. Thanks to people like you, I have to pay a fortune for a new PC game (well, not really, but it could cost a lot less if those l33t clowns weren´t downloading instead of paying with their own money for a change).

Besides, you can download a demo, it lets you play a whole nice level through before realizing MOH is crap. It is just another Quake clone. Don´t even think if comparing it to games like OFP.

MOH plays like quake 3 in MP.. idiots running around with rocket launchers blasting people.. other idiots running in circles shooting at eachother... single player is shit too, life bars.. for gods sake.. you can carry an arsenal consisting of no less than 3 machine guns a sniper rifle, a pistole a ton of frags.. and of course a rocket launcher with several rounds.. total bullshit..

MOH is quake 3 with different skins and weapons.. not much more.

Ok for one not the web...I&#39;m downloading it from someone who bought it and put it up for download....I&#39;m trading a game for a game.....and no I don&#39;t always download games but I don&#39;t have much money and their is so many good games...yeah of course I would rather have an official CD...because that way when there are patch&#39;s you don&#39;t have to worry about getting a new noCD patch.....but the point is I can&#39;t afford to buy them all.....so games that I will not buy because I want to get something else more I download....but the logic is they are not getting money from me anyway it goes...so the choice is to enjoy the game or not...

and I didn&#39;t know there was a demo......

But if I did download "all" my games I would say you have a choice....have 50 bucks?...yes or no?.

Plus don&#39;t bitch at me for downloading...I have gave out the ass for games....I have about 900 bucks in PS2 games and who knows how much in PC games....I have about 34 "bought" PC games......

After I read more about it I don&#39;t think it&#39;s going to be a good war game....seems like it&#39;s going to be allot like no one lives forever....but still a good game.....

I&#39;m sure teen rating....no blood of any kind....I think it&#39;s cheap when that&#39;s all you get a blood puddle...but nope nothing at all...the AI can do so much more than you in actions......they are super smart....like it said"they will see you put 3 bullets in your head before you even see em"

So my opinion worth buying? not sure I havn&#39;t played it but i&#39;m not sure it is

worth downloading for free....hell yeah.... http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Jan 23 2002, 10:42
No One Lives Forever? More like Quake III, except you run around in a big bush labyrinth with a couple of dumbass AI teammates and when you get shot your health drops by 1. Oh, and it&#39;s also supposed to be based in WW2 except I don&#39;t remember that the Allies had to run through bush labyrinths in WW2.

MrLaggy
Jan 23 2002, 13:29
Yeah, it&#39;s had great writeups and it&#39;s hard to say bad things about any game where you get to shoot Nazis, but in the end it&#39;s just WWII Quake: which is fine if you like that kind of thing, but I&#39;ve progressed beyond linear shoot-em-ups where you can carry an M1911, Thompson, BAR, sniper rifle, rocket launcher and probably more weapons and ammo all at the same time, where you know that any time you go round a corner into a new area there&#39;ll be enemies waiting in exactly the same place as they were waiting last time you played.

I also wasn&#39;t impressed with the AI in the demo, particularly the soldiers who&#39;d run ahead and alert the enemy machine-gunners when I was getting ready to shoot them from a distance with the sniper rifle, and the one who killed himself by standing only a few feet away from the bomb I&#39;d placed while I was running screaming for cover before it blew up.

And that&#39;s after the lockups and the time wasted getting it to work in the first place: it loses the mouse focus if I start it up without first disabling my Internet dialup, and no mouse-look makes it unplayable. Oh, and they disable ALT-TAB and CTRL-ALT-DEL, so after it had lost the mouse focus I had to hit the reset button to get out of the game: in my opinion that&#39;s a sin that should send them to the lowest levels of Hell.

I may buy it when it hits the bargain bins, but aside from better graphics there doesn&#39;t seem to be much to make it stand out from the original Wolfenstein-3D...

Oh, but as for the bush labyrinths, I believe it&#39;s actually fairly realistic: I read a historical account of the Normandy landings a couple of years ago and the thick hedges were a major reason why they progressed inland so slowly in the first few weeks after the landings. Until someone figured out how to build a gadget to let tanks tear there way through, they were a major barrier to troop and armor movement.

Damage Inc
Jan 23 2002, 13:35
Realistic? Nah they just put them in to hide the fact that the Quake III engine can&#39;t handle a real outdoors area.

Jan 23 2002, 15:07
Plz stop comparing all war games to opflash, btw opflash has realistic tank armour (Sarcasm Detector goes off the scale) Its fun so plz stop comparing every game to opflash, one thing most mods have done loads of there work off the Demo so BoB and SPR mods will be out soon unlike all the supposed mods for opflash ( if thye dont all shut up shop).

Damage Inc
Jan 23 2002, 15:27
OFP is much better and much more realistic. And MOF:AA isn&#39;t really a war game, it&#39;s a Quake III "realistic" mod with lots of running around bush labyrinths. Except most mods aren&#39;t called entire new games like this.

GrimCalavera
Jan 23 2002, 15:39
MOHAA ain&#39;t gonna be published before June 6th (D-Day), or that&#39;s what they claim at EA.

That too, but from what I read, at the time the game was set there were relatively few battles in large outdoor areas: the hedges were so thick they were rarely able to see the enemy from more than two hundred yards away on the ground, and often much less. So in that sense it is fairly realistic.

Black Op
Jan 23 2002, 17:36
the game isnt just set in Normandy though it also has places like North Africa,

my advice is Save your money&#33;&#33;, go buy Half life (its about Ł10 now) and download day of defeat 2.0 (to be released any day now).

it is much more realistic than mohaa, guns have accuarate recoil, like ofp running while firing with most guns is pointless, it also has realistic damage, 1 shot can kill you &#33;&#33;, and it also has blood implemented, plus to get the most out of it join a clan and prepare for some serious team play

and btw, the half life engine may be old but graphics dont make a game, gameplay does

Damage Inc
Jan 23 2002, 17:40
That reminds me that Half-Life was a much better game than MOHAA. And it wasn&#39;t realistic either.

Black Op
Jan 23 2002, 17:45

I just played it and I like it.....sure it&#39;s a no one lives forever type game but it&#39;s cool.......I kinda like being able to carry so many weapons.....cheap though with health...I had a grenade land by my feet and it only knocked down my health like one quarter.....

What&#39;s pissing me off is I&#39;m on the attack on Omaha beach level and is anyone else getting shot at?...nope just me...I&#39;m talking about right after you get off the boat....all fire is coming straight at me.....and I see what they mean about the script...how the same thing happeneds...

So now that I have been playing it is it worth buying?...yes....but how long it lasts I don&#39;t know......

... maybe you should look around you and see all your brothers in arms getting shot at, and don&#39;t act like a sitting duck for crying out loud, if i&#39;m on Omaha beach, i can look to the left and see people getting shot at, same goes to my right, trying to find the medoc and get my ass up to the front, then you must get those bengelores and follow a leader d00d into the bunker, in the bunker it&#39;s a while quake 3 cause your health lowers as fast as on the beach... that&#39;s not fast http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif every mission after that is cool, Ohama still ownz all though especially online&#33; http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Yeah I figured out that you have to take cover behind those medal things to stop the fire in your direction....that mission is fucking awesome though...kinda puts flashpoint to shame....the beach attack anyway...the bunker part is kinda cheap.....

What I don&#39;t like is there are no cut scenes at all....I love watching movies especially if they are CG......

It was meant to be like that so it doesnt take you away from the feeling that your "in" the game.

However, in my experience they&#39;re at least as likely to just run straight towards the Germans in full sight and blast away at close range.

One thing that really bugged me was grenades. I mean, I come to a house, right by the wall where I can&#39;t be shot, I know it&#39;s full of Nazis because I played the level before and I know it&#39;s totally scripted so they&#39;ll always be in there. Why can&#39;t I just pull the pin on a grenade and drop it through the window, rather than have to actually step out in front of it where they&#39;ll kill me?

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">I have never played quake 3 but when I think of quake 1 and that type of game play what the fuck are you talking about?...quake games have no story at all...the game is an LMS with shitloads of guys running at you..[/QUOTE]<span id='postcolor'>

And MOHAA is Quake with Nazis and some kind of story tagged on to make it seem more interesting. In Quake games you go into a room, you know it will be full of monsters, they knock down your health and ammo, you kill them, you find the cache of health and ammo that&#39;s there to restore you for the next room, you move on to the next room, you know it will be full of monsters, ad infinitum. Nothing new, no real tactics, just the same old, same old from beginning to end: move, lose health and ammo, kill, find the cache, move on.

And that&#39;s precisely what the MOHAA demo is, except they pretend the rooms are actually outside environments and the monsters are in Nazi uniforms. Again, there&#39;s nothing wrong with that if it&#39;s your kind of thing, but these days I find repetitive, linear, totally scripted games very, very dull (including Half-Life, where I eventually played the last third in God mode just to get through it without dying of boredom). OFP may be largely scripted, but there are multiple ways of playing almost all missions, and numerous tactical options.

Yeah it&#39;s to cheap health wise...some missions I am finding at the end it says hits taken 90......

I hate how the snipers can see like hawks....I mean it&#39;s very very difficult to get a sniper in your view without him seeing you....and were not talking he is looking through his scope he is just standing looking around and always sees you....I find myself walking along get shot by a sniper hit F9 to reload and then ok I know one is there now.....

It&#39;s still a good game though......great sound effects, great graphic&#39;s.....

I just beat the game and shit what the hell kind of ending was that?...short ass game to...not a cutscene in the game....CHEAP....some of those levels were fun but shit unless you get multiplayer working you wont get your money&#39;s worth....

Jan 25 2002, 09:30
Stop complaining you did not even buy the game, you my friend are CHEAP

Rogue2020

Shit you know how it ends....just like any other mission then it says the end.....

Only 3 reasons people would complain about me downloading games..

1.they are not massive gamers like me...

2.they don&#39;t know where or how to get free games and they are jealous....

3.they have enough money to buy any game they want..

Trust me if I had the money I would buy all my games....

I just spent awhile on multiplayer though and it&#39;s pretty fun.....800 people on gamespy playing it so you wont have a problem finding a server......but what sucks is the cheats work in multi player....they fixed that in 1.1 but not everyone is up and running on it yet...

Saw that flashpoint is on gamespy also...have to check that out...never played it online before.....but I have never used gamespy before........

I wonder if the retail version is any different from the beta, pathetic if the ending is simply "The End"...........

Rogue2020

It is....you mow down a few guys get on a train and the place is blowing up and your guys say "look at that" then it fades off and says the end.....
