Hey all,
Does anyone know of any guide that can shed some light onto the finer aspects of controlling the TOW missles on the Bradley or the missle on the BMP's. I am having a tough time figuring it out.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/help.gif

I found that if you aim with the lowest vertical line of the gunsight and don't zoom in you should get a first round hit every time, The same go's for thirdperson view but aim a litte high of the target....http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c283/Recoill/BMPgunsightre.jpg
sorry placebo forgot to check the size http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif

The pic above is a good example of targeting the BMP2. However, if you targeted with the Bradley like that - you would miss. For the Bradley - make sure the bottom line covers all but about the bottom quarter of the vehicle. Works every time for me.

And of course if you have a lockon all you have to do is point the launcher in the general direction of the target and your missiles will be guided to the target http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

I distinctly remember locking on a T80 with a Carl Gustav once. But the life of me I cannot lock onto anything anymore. I too would love an explanation of these.

Carl Gustav: it doesn't lock on, but is an operator guided missile. Point at the target, fire, and keep the cross-hairs on the target. The missile will go where you point it. The missile is VERY fast so you don't get much time to change it's trajectory. Have fun http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

A bit of a kink on the quiet eh Flex http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
I found that the original answer to your question was right. Initially I used the third person view with the bottom of the sight just above the target, then when you switch to first person I found as the picture shows, that in normal view (not zoomed in) the lower maker should be covering the target. How much is dependant on how far off the target is.
T.O.W missiles from land based vehicles do not as far as I have found lock on, neither can they be guided.
I suppose that in effect they are no more than a rocket.

Just done some testing http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/pistols.gif the BMP2's AT launcher and Bradley TOW missiles can and do "lock on" but the target MUST first be designated by the commander of the vehicle.
The Carl Gustav, as I said before is an operator guided missile and I foung that it works much better to aim slightly HIGH and then bring the missile DOWN onto the target especially at long distances.
The AT4 launcher is NOT guided and I found that at long distances, the the "sweet spot" is about two thirds of the way from the bottom horizontal line to the next horizontal line. It has a flat trajectory. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Nice one richrotors was about to post the same info as you http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/notworthy.gif In Real life the Tow and the AT-4 should be aimed and fired like the Carl Gustav as the Tow on the Bradley and the AT-4 on the BMP1 and BMP2 are both Optically tracked, Wire-guided missiles......If i remember right thats how it was on the PC version... Hay BIS why did you change it for OFP:E http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif
