I've heard theres something special concerning the destruction of gas stations in ofp elite... can anyone give some information?
it doesnt crumple up like paper, it actually falls apart http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

But not dynamically right? I mean, you can't really shoot single parts off right? Its just one new model when shot? Or can anyone provide some pics?

This interesting information since dynamic destruction has always been rumouring around, especially for vbs1 and armed assault. Dynamic destruction means you can shoor buildings apart, and not just pre-defined parts, but dynamically generated holes (like Söldner secret wars or red faction several years ago).
Can anyone provide excar information on what kind of damage system the gas station uses?

The fuel stations do not Dynamicly destruct, you cant blow chunks off them, but when you destroy them they blow up and fall to the ground in peaces on fire though. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Seems to be an animation using pieces of the original model. Looks a lot more realistic than the crumpling effect.

I didn't see any gas stations exploding in those videos, but the bridges fall apart into some very big atoms. The bridge sections between the pillars fall down, and the pillars fall down (for all those who cannot view the videos).

from what i saw when the Gas Station fell apart, was the supports falling onto the gas tank, and peices flying away and such. everything was on fire, but i didint see it again yet, so i dont know if that is just an animation or actuall physics makin it happen?....
You know the tanks keep driving off the bridge on the video, you reckon bis have made an invisible road section with no geo properties or textures so the ai will try to follow it then just placed normal objects so it 'appears' the vehicles are using the actual destroyable bridge but in fact they are actually following the roadway of an invisible road?
Just an idea - or how to implement it into normal ofp?

Now my suspicions are that we will see the same in ArmA, my bet is that all of the buildings (maybe not all but hey, there is a possibility! ) will be compromised of small chunks whitch will be animated with .rtm animations to look like destroyed buildings in the end, also what is good news is that now we will probably be able to animate all kinds of objects with .rtm, not only soldiers.

None, nor do I have an Xbox.
Mikero extracted the config.cpp from the BISOFP addon on his Xbox (You should ask him how he does that), I just scrolled trough it reading it (don't even tell me about it) and ran into this.
Also this config looks more tidy (at least to me) than config.bin from PC OFP.
