View Full Version : Question on Animations
Are there any changes being done to the animation file format for Armed Assault? I'm curious because I would like to know if rtm's or OFPAnim will be compatible with Armed Assault.

as far as I know, there wont be - or only slightly - be any changes to the format.
The only big changes we will see, is in addon configs, scripting and islands.

The most obvious difference will be the graphical engine which is up to date with new games.

The animations will most likely be the same format. So the animations made for OFP soldier models will probably work in ArmA as the skeleton model is the same.
If ArmA get's delayed by much (up to 6 months which I believe it will) then they might change the skeleton models to the ones used in Game2, but that's just speculation.

Just don't place any bets on it...
Well if teacup's script still works its good.
Thanks for all the replies. I think my safest bet would be to wait until it's out before playing around with anims. I'll be really upset if I can't port them over.
Thanks again guys.

Where did the devs get the silly original animations from, anyway? The gun on the elbow is a classic, as is the civilian grenade throwing. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rofl.gif
