So here is the current situation for anyone wanting information about ArmA.

The community are eager to hear news from BIS who had promised at E3 that their new game would be released by Q4 2005. Unfortunately, other than 4 screenshots and an official ArmA website that hasnt been updated since late September with the promise of 'More screenshots and news will be available soon together with the new version of our official Armed Assault website'. We are being kept in the dark as to the current state of the game.

Then we have the moderators who say things like the following:

Quote[/b] ]Your negative response is totally misplaced. When BIS announces they have a publishing deal, I'm sure we'll hear a release date as well. Until then BIS cannot give a release date for a game that doesn't have a publisher. BIS can't force a publisher to take on ArAs - they're probably working to get the best deal they can.

So chill out. There's no legitimate reason to be angry at BIS.

So the official line from a moderator is that BIS DO NOT HAVE A PUBLISHER. We finally have an answer even if the moderator let this information slip without knowing it.

But, let me add that we have many legitimate reasons for being angry with BIS. They dont have a publisher so in other words they will be breaking no contract to keep us up to date with whats happening with the game. Many people here speculated that the reason why we were hearing no news was probably because they had signed a contract with a new publisher that meant they couldnt release any details about the game. This obviously isnt true.

We now know that this is incorrect. BIS do not have a publisher (as revealed by a BIS moderator today), so why the lack of news? Any news is of interest to this community BIS whether that news tells us that the game is postponed for 6 months or will be out as predicted, surely you respect your community enough to give us some answers or information?

You told us that the game would be out in Q4 and thats all you've said, then when an expectant audience ask questions because there doesnt seem to be any information about the game which is supposed (according to yourselves) be released within the next month, you just either ignore the requests or lock the topic without an answer.

You made the announcement of Q4 so you've created your own problems if everyone is on this forum asking where is the game. By refusing to answer any questions will not solve anything. All that will do is bring bad publicity to your game because the community thinks you've abandoned them.

I will be writing to PC Zone today to ask if they will contact you for an official answer. Maybe you dont think we are worthy of your time but perhaps a games magazine will?

Hang on there, high-speed. I'm a moderator but I'm not an official spokesman for BIS. I've often said as much. Until BIS announces a publisher, I have to assume that they don't have one or are not yet ready to announce one. Thus, this topic is getting locked and you're getting a PR since I told you as much when I closed the last one down.

If you'd spent more time reading my posts instead of reading into them, you'd know why there hasn't been much promotion of ArAs yet.
