Wow i'm absolutely amazed by the sheer scale of this game. At first i was absolutely useless, in fact i wasn't killing anybody in alot of the missions. But once i got to grips with how the game plays it's like second nature!

Possible spoiler

After i unlocked the Resistance Campaign, one of the first missions you have to make a choice of saving a rebel or letting the soviets know where he is. I was amazed that you get COMPLETELY DIFFERENT missions depending on choice.

End Spoiler

I just can't believe the amount of choice in the missions and depending on how good you do or what choices you make you can actually get different missions.

I love the way that you have to seach around for the objectives as a Special Ops. Even the vehicle controls are excellent. I reckon it'll take me months to exhaust all the missions with this and thats not even taking into account the multiplayer.

If you've come onto this forum to want to know if this is worth getting then believe me it is. GET IT NOW!

Glad you enjoy OFP:E.

SPOILER!!!
There is one part in the RES-campaign where you choose where you want to go (betray the resistance or not) but two missions later you get back on track with the normal campaign again.
In the CWC-campaign there is one mission where you are to take the town of Montignac. If you suffer heavy casaulties you're ordered to retreat to where you started and a alternate mission will follow, instead of the "blackhawk comes to pick you up but gets shot down by a Hind and you're on your own".

Well if you keep working for Guba, in about the 4th mission they execute you as you could be a double agent or something.

This game was well worth the wait, I would give it 9/10 anyday, there is so much to do and see.

Well done BI you have produced the deepest, most realistic, absolute fun shooter in the life of the Xbox.

Well thank you all for the welcome!

Just reading through the posts from this thread alone i had no idea of the sheer amount of choice you get. I've NEVER seen this in this genre. Usually in most shooters you go along an extremely linear path with your squad invunerable.

I've got a couple fo questions for the veterans of this game if you don't mind answering them for me.

When you're a grunt you get the chance to ask the squad leader where he is. What i want to know is, when you're in control of a squad how can you just tell the person who asked where you are without telling them to come to you? What i normally do is select the squad member who asked me where i am, went onto the map and told him to come to me. Is that the only way?

Also, again when you're a squad leader, how do you get a medic to go to someone who is injured or direct an injured squad member to go to the medic? The few missions i've been on as Armstrong there doesn't appear to be a medic with you. I've tried to call base to bring a medic to me but they always say 'Negative'.

Thats all for now http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I'm basing this off of my play with the PC version, since I don't have an XBox, but the gist of it should be the same.

When you're acting as squad leader, you don't actually need to specifically respond to "Where are you?" requests. As I understand it, your avatar sends his coordinates to the requesting unit automatically, and silently.

As for the role of medics, while there doesn't appear to be a way to directly tell a medic to go to an injured unit, you can order the injured unit to head to the medic by accessing his "action" submenu. There should be an item "Heal at medic", which will feed him the necessary coordinates.

Welcome to the world of OFP diddyphil http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/welcome.gif

Regarding your first question, you can't tell your squad where you are. But it doesn't matter as they know it anyway. When they shout 'Where are you?' it is just supposed to be an indicator that you are running that fast that they can't keep up with you in the current combat mode. And this can be the solution to avoid it, put them on Aware or Safe and they will have less problems to follow you around.

Well, as I don't have an XBOX I can't tell you exactly which menus. In the PC version you select either the medic or wounded soldier , go to Action (the same menu where you can tell your soldiers to pick up different weapons) and there you can find an option 'Go to soldier Xo'clock' or something similar. Alternatively, if the respective object is around you will have an option 'Heal at tent/vehicle Xo'clock'.

I thought medics would automatically go to wounded squad members, now, in OFP:E?

All I can do is agree totally, its been long since I've seen such a decent game on Xbox or Xbox Live!, I still play the pc version of Operation Flashpoint / Resistance and must say its just as good as that baring in mind your playing on a console.

Bis did an extremely well job on creating this game and the wait for it has been more then worth it! Keep up your work!
I really hope Bis is going to do some Operation Flashpoint series on Xbox360! With the insane job on the Xbox version and the insane possibilities on Xbox360 one can only think that would be a bestseller :P

Btw Placebo, do you actually play the game on Live from time to time? Can you actually run into one of the guys behind the game in a server? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif
My gamertag is on Live! is: Manifold, See you on the battlefield!
