Well im kind of new to the whole "dedicated server" thing cause i play all of my xbox games over system link instead of xbox live. So could you set it up to use one system as the dedicated server? or is that possible with the system link feature? I would apreciate the help

A Dedicated Host is created to be used on Xbox Live. As explained in other threads, the Xbox running this kind of Host is used exclusively for hosting and cannot be played on itself. This means the machine can focus all of its power on providing a stable and fast multiplayer experience to whoever connects to it and it allows high numbers of players http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

It should be noted that you can also create a normal Host on both System Link and Xbox Live. On such a normal Host you can still play at the same time http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

Why is it that it says i can only hold 8 players when i try to host a dedicated server http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif

I have 2mb download speed & 288 upload speed i thought i would have been able to host a bigger game than that http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif

The host is mostly limited by its upload speed. For most missions the estimation is around 32kbps is needed per client. You are able to override the settings for both normal and dedicated host, but by doing so you are quite likely to introduce some lag for the players connecting.

Yeah, everyone should find as many "bandwidth speed test"ing websites as they can for their area, then get as many measurements as they can, especially during peak hours of use, to determine how many players they can ideally host.
