Can somebody tell me how to practice (existing) MP-missions off-line?? Tried to 'load' in the editor, didn't work....

Sure -- just host a MP game with yourself as the only non-AI player.

It usually works pretty well, though I've encountered some third-party missions that couldn't be completed unless a human player controlled the Unit Commander, because they required specific commands to be issued to the other unit members to reach goals.

I tried to host a game for myself, tried it with localhost, 127.0.0.1 (I have a dynamic IP-address), too bad , doesn't work. then I tried to start OFP two times (with the idea of creating a server and a host), got a 3d device error..... Then I tried to run Gamespy offline....that didn't work as. I shouldn't be that hard.......Anybody knows the answer??

I do this almost every day -- I just click "Multiplayer", then "Create" on the "Network Games on LAN" screen, and I'm done.

Im guessing you have a perm connection or something Mister Frag?
You can't host a mp game unless you're online....
Well, I cant anyway. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Yes, I have an always-on DSL connection.

It didn't occur to me until you mentioned it that creating a server won't work without an active Internet connection. I keep forgetting that lots of people still have to make do with analog dial-up connections because they can't get cable or DSL in their area.

I found a way to practice MP-missions offline. First thing to dial is to establish a internet-connection, then start up OFP. Go to Multiplayer and click 'NEW'. You'll see '<your id> connected. Then do ALT-TAB, close your dial-up connection and go back to OFP. When you start a new MP-game you'll be able to play....Problem is the AI-opponent.

go to the Multiplayer section in the game and SELECT "NEW" http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gifhttp://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif? if it pauses - press the "esc" escape key three times and for some reason it works http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
