Can the Hind carry soldiers?

If not, it's not such a big deal, since I read that they almost never used Hinds to carry soldiers, anyway.

But if they can, GREAT!

I can't see why not, seeing as BIS said they've not taken anything out of the game for the Xbox version. If anything they've added. Why they wouldn't make them without cargo positions I don't know.

I don't understand why they'd take it out either. There's no reason to. They probably left the cargo positions there.

At least, I don't see any reason for them to take it out. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

what do they use the cargo carpentment for than if they don't transport troops?

The soviets by law couldn't produce a dedicated attack helicopter. So technically the hind is a transport helicopter with lots of guns http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

I love the Mil Mi-24 Hind http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

It's not supreme, no, but it has a style I really like. This massive huge monster is much more scarier then the Apache/Longbow in my view, though I do agree that the Apache/Longbow is a far greater chopper then the Hind in many ways. The mobility for example, and the more technological advanced system of weapons.

One can argue on who is supreme chopper in the different fields but that's my point-of-view.

Back to the question, I think it can carry 8 infantry but I'm not sure on the amount.

Apache for attacking from trees and things like that since the hind cannot hover too well, its more like a plane rather than helicopter...however I'd be more afraid to see a hind...well I duno, the longbow can be pretty scary, especially with teeth painted on teh side,my views

Apache-tree attacks
Hind-bombardment runs
Apache-hovering
Hind-armor
Apache-mobility
Hind-lots of rockets
Apache-advanced systems
Hind-soldier transportation
I'm not quite sure what the hind was designed for but I'd guess a very armed soldier transport and bombadeer, whereas the apache is designed for anti tank and not necessarily head on fights, though it did take an RPG to the belly in DE and very few systems went and both crew made it without a scratch.

Like you said, each has its own specialty, anyway,I don't think BIA would take an old ability such as cargo positions in the hind and then get rid of it in a further up version, doesnt make sense to do that, though it would even out helicopter fights,to a degree, unless they made the hind more like its real life counterpart, even then...

Hmm, was the ability to carry troops in the Hind added in one of the patches, 'cause I thought that it couldn't carry troops in the game, that people have had to add it in?

Yes, it still can http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

In fact, this mean machine now even has retractable landing gear, making it look even more menacing in-flight http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

The troop carrying was possible from 1.0, do you remember the POW mission? You were transported in a Hind from the base to the camp, I even went to steal it and flew it back to base.
