whenever i get into a game room and someone lauches gamespy locks up with no message or anything.is there anything i can do to fix this? i have all patches and have tried reinstalling.

check what type of ping you get, try to go with players at 200ms or less.
Lower your firewall settings to low
Gamespy blows goats on toast, its constantly sending background info and doubling the ping times. On my poor old 56k i can host 8 ppl in the states from the uk in flight sims, 6 ppl happily on Rogue Spear in the zone, and the most i can handle in OFP so far is 4, but I'll always take 6 because some invariably fail to get to the pool.
Once I'm in the game it runs fine, but it's getting past the connection stage that sucks right now. Apart from the fact that the type of players you get in gamespy isn't what i'm used to from other games... isn't there anyone out there interested in fun, honest helpful games, or is it all abusive "net rage" ..http://www.flashpoint1985.com/ikonboard3/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Also, try the codemasters chat lobby for games, not as funky looking as gamespy but no adds and good old simple ip address posting

gamepy has a very big problem their service sucks.
and no company gives a damm. code masters have left flashpoint users high and dry with gamespy and
