View Full Version : Full weapons mount flexibility

If ArmA is based around VBS, does anyone know is unit/vehicle capability has been improved over OFP? ie
- All vehicles can mount all weapon types? (ie Ships cant mount missile launchers in OFP)
- All vehicles can have turrets? (ie helos but not planes can have turrets in OFP)
As an newbie addon maker these limits are a pain in the butt.
If ships could mount missiles in ArmA, then I might slow down my attempts to do otherwise http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

If ships could mount multiple turrets (firing platforms) and you could walk around freely on them things would definetly become more interesting, even more if it was part of the game and not just an addon possibility, but i think it would be hard to completely incorporate this functionality due to a.i. and has a half finished feature i doubt they would throw that in http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif . I think that to fully introduce walking in moving ships the a.i. would need to be worked on alot and with Arma being a up to date OPF and ground combat being a priority it may not justify the devs time and work http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif .
Game 2 maybe? Still multible turrets in vehicals would be great and shouldnt be too hard if BIS really did rebuilt the engine http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif .

Hm well there is the ability to walk around freely in one of the VBS1 moduals i belive so i guess itll be in ArAs, since they seem to of managed to do it with in a small amount of time in the OFP engine and since ArAs is a new/very modified engine im guessing/hopeing that most the limitations such as multiple turrets and ability to walk around freely will be included. But Intill more infomation or the games released all we can do is guess and hope. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif
ArmA based on OFP Xbox!!!!!!
OFP2 will be maybe nearly VBS1 reality
