The day I get it, I'll be dancing around like this little banana: http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif
While Game2 is being installed I'll post on every forum that I got it.
After a successful install I'll open the mission editor and make a huge battle including everything the game has to offer. After this mayhem I'll probably start the campaign... or I'll start another onslaught.

Take a week off from work, buy supplies that last at least one week, unplug the phone, send my girlfriend to Betty Ford clinic for at least 4 weeks, close all the shades, place the pizza delivery number at slot one of my phone and tell my freinds that I´m on holiday. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
I guess i will be playing campaign first and simultaniously try to get a grip in the editor, work through the comRef and will try to get the grin out of my face.

Hi,

First I would start up the mission editor and try out the various units, vehicles and weapons and just wander around on the islands. After that (many hours later) I would try to improvise a first Dutch army addon by trying to swap the DPM textures of the Russian infantry on the model of the U.S. troops.

I would first pop a chill pill then open up the editor.
Then i would select a chopper to fly with and head out over this new BIG terrain and explore from the sky. Then i would get me some nice spots from the air and make huge war on those area's. Then i would do some missions and all that stuff....hmmm....wait....just walk around as a civy would do fine to instead of all the above lol http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rofl.gif

I'd find the tallest building, and use positioned piles satchels to blow every vehicle and civvy onto it's roof to test the physics engine.. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

Naaa.. really, I'd probably be more interested to see the dynamics of the campaign. You know, lose a few missions to see the territory taken up. that sorta thingy. After, of course, one of warriors chill pills got popped.. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

First, Im gonna go ape shit and start dancing of happiness. Then Ill get about 3 2 liters of Coke, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper and put them in a mini fridge. Grab about 3 bags of Lays Potato Chips. Hookup my headphones and turn them on fullblast so I cant hear anyone from the outside world http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rofl.gif
Turn off all the lights, even though Ill be as scared as shit because my house is from the 1800's, its haunted and theres a cemetary i can see from my window thats about a yard away from my house http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif .
Then Ill just go in Mission Editor, make some extra huge battles and then play some of the campaign, then do that again. Then maybe some MP if anyones on.

I want OFP2 now http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/inlove.gif

Tough question, i have no idea... first maybe, open the editor to adjust graphics and sound settings, get a feel with the controls, explore the maps a bit, units, a.i, etc.
Then when im more or less confortable with it play a sp mission or two and only then start the campaign i guess, problably the same procedure has OPF, its still very far but i think it will be very exciting, for now i dream only of armed assault, seems more than good enough for the time being http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/notworthy.gif .

Firstly look at the control settings, than the other settings like sound and graphics.

After that mess in the mission editor for 15 minutes.

Than play the campaign non stop until I finish it.

Finally start making addons for it (that SDK better be included on the CD http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif )

After that ill most properly get straight back into making missions, and never ever play the campaign. With OFP now even after playing with it for 4 years i have still yet to start the CWC or Resistance campaigns, or even play one the single missions that came with both. Actully come to think of it only missions i ever play (apart from in MP) is ones that ive made http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I would not have feared the sound of oncoming BMPs and Shilkas or gleed the first time I stole an enemy Hind so much in the original OFP campaign if I had just been farting around with them in the editor a few minutes prior.

First open the box at home. Start the install and then browse the manual for settings, features, weapons and vehicles. I wont launch the game, before I've browsed the manual.

When I open the box, ill go instal it right away, until I get the "Unable to read file xxx, installation failed". Then ill download it from some file sharing client, just to find out that BIS actually implemented a decent anti piracy software this time!

After this, I will run down to the place that I bought it, trying to strangulate the salesperson until he hands me a new copy and tests it on their computer.

Then ill just start playing the campaign, (just doing a test-run). That means I will try to see what happends if i go around helping civilians/allies and what happends if i slaughter the bunch...

Then you'll come back to the forum and moo at us in excitement.

I plan on making a mission where the objective is to enter a village and kill all the women, children and small kittens. Don't worry though, they'll all be armed (except the kittens... maybe) so it isn't sick in any way.

I will attempt to run up a very steep hill sideways and still retain jogging pace. If I cannot do this, I will use the DVD as a coaster for my tea.

Now that's not fair! I'm sure G2 would have lots of better features if that isn't included!

Install it reading the manual and box obessively. Jumping up and down. Running around the house a few times waiting for it to reach 99%. Once at 99% I will not breathe until it completes 100%.

I will then set up all the graphics, controls and everything. Admire the startup sequence. Recheck I have enough food and drink to survive for 4 days in my room.

I will then play a single mission most likely, just to see how it works, loading times etc. See how many new things I can spot. I will then start converting all my missions over and making many many new ones. Hopefully with full documentation :P

I will then join the wankers on Zeus and play it with them for another 4 years.

It's not the size you need, but the bandwidth. I dream of when I can get a 64-bit PCI-X SATA RAID controller spitting 8 striped drives of data into a 4gb GigabyteTech RAM-Disk SATA Card. All parts available now, just out of my budget.

Since the RAM-Disk card exposes it's self as a SATA hard drive, I wonder if it is possible to stripe them with a real RAID controller...

KimTuomi
Nov 10 2005, 12:01
Shin, maybe I didn't quite follow your point on RAIDing RAM-disks? Wouldn't you RAID in case of extended reliability (fault tolerance) or speed (stripe)? I don't really see the real-world scenario where you would actually RAID ram-drives. RAM drives should be very fast compared to any physical disk-setup and probably they would be used as real fast alternative in case you need to access some project files (videoediting, whatever) in almost realtime.

Okay, maybe a bit off-topic to technical side .. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif

I'm going to read the box and the manual 10 times over, and then i'm going to rub my finger against the CD a few times to feel the texture of the sticker, and then i'm going to look at the screen until it's done installing (and trying not to blink), and then I will go to the options and see what kind of graphical settings i can enable, and then i will play the campaign slowly and I will enjoy every bit of it http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif

I will do the first campaign for a while. Then look at the island on the editor. Then create some big shoot out missions on editor. Then play single missions. Then the campaign again for ages (but not complete it). Go back to editor and try creating more sophisticated missions for a long time. A couple more single missions. Multiplayer. Campaign till i finnish it. And then mixture of single missions, editor and multiplayer till i die.

Will crank all settings to highest immediately, to see if my monster (currently) machine can run it.

If not smoothly, I'll set 'em down a notch until I'm getting a nice, smooth level of FPS.

Then the carnage will begin. Oh yes. <evil laugh> http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Well, raj, Armed Assault is the new game under development by the creators of Operation :Flashpoint and due for release soon.

The Second Generation Game (or Game2 as some call it) is also a new game under development by the same people. But this 'Game2' is aimed at the masivly powerfull pcs of the near future, capable of so much more than todays technology.

In short, Armed Assault is for now, Game2 is for tomorrow.

Hope you understand

Aparently the animations will be the last thing BIS change in development. So the finished Armed Assault game will (or) should have different animations from Operation:Flashpoint

Oh yeah I remember that..the AI tends to get pissed off when you kill friendlies...even online..hell I remember this one AI that,no matter what the situation, would find some sneaky way of killing my friend, without him doing anything to the AI. Then in one round of CTI..not sure how..but I somehow pissed off an AI that apprently only blew up my vehicles,it got an Vulcan M113 thingy and I got an AH-1 Cobra...fucker blew it up,then I got a humvee, bam, then a jeep, boom, then I was broke.

I hope they keep em like that, games tend to suck bad when you can kill 5 or all friendlies and the AI doesnt do anything.
