JSF would be more sensible since this is going to be in the year 2010.

EDIT: I'm I blind or is this artical for August 2005?
Ha ha, It's an article from the future! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif
I think magazines release their August issue in July.
Quoting the article (Page 3)-
Quote[/b] ]It's much larger and more detailed than Eberon and previous worlds
Do they mean Everon?
Nope, Everon's little brother, Eberon. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/nener.gif
The article is very interesting. Damnit it's like a shitload of information after a fear years of nothing. These games are going to be really amazing, really really amazing.

I would love to see BIS drive a T55 up as a publicity stunt at next years E3 that would be great. I know there are a few T55s state side, there has got to be one around California that could be rented.
I actually would find that more entertaining than fast roping rangers, which I hear happens every year. Trust me I don't even think those amatuers at G4TV could ignore a T55 driving up the commanders hatch popping open and Maruk flying the BIS flag, to announce Game 2.
Actually if you really want to get attention at next years E3, drive the T55 overa pile of Battlefield and Ghost Recon games in the parking lot. Then while every one is standing around in slack jawed awe of what you have done.... pop the hatch fly the BIS flag and anounce the title for game 2 and proclaim it to be "the" game.

Just on a sidenote: tank fuel is expensive http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

It also could be interesting to get in a tank battle with the America's Army's Bradley (http://www.4gamer.net/news/image/2002.05/20020529201137_1big.jpg). Firing a blank shell at the Bradley could sure draw some attention http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif

Erm... that's kind of an M6 Linebacker...
Though BIS might have trouble paying for a bunch of BF or GR copies, those games are $50. Maybe just the boxes...
Though what'd be better than driving the T-55 in is paradropping the T-55 into the parking lot. Or rent a Mi-26 and "sling" it over. Now THAT would be a lot cooler. And a lot more expensive.

Nah, get the CA contingent of OFP players to stand next the AA Bradley with sandwich boards showing actual ingame unprerendered footage of ArmA/NGPCG Bradleys on a side-by-side comparison, with a caption like "No rivets, no realism", then paralell park the T55 infront of it.
Or, spark a little interservice rivalry and show how the USMC - who can do everything better than the Army http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif - play useful and realistic[/i] games made by innovative designers. If the Army brings a Bradley, have the Marines bring an Abrams. If the Army brings a Blackhawk, have the Corps fly in a CH-53E Super Sea Stallion, and have the Marines hustle down the ramp and put a parking ticket on the Bradley, and the boot on the tracks.

I think that everything flying with a russian star on it is going to get brought down veeeeery quick after the "recent 9/11 attacks" http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif .
Even though the T55 is kind of OFP's early promoter, later on, the BMP kind of took over, right? added to that, a BMP is allot lighter then the T55 (easier to transport) , but it also comes closer to the Bradley, oh, exept for the fact that it's half as high, and carries bigger shells http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif .
Btw, if that Linebacker didn't move an inch the entire E3, actually driving that BMP would make quite an impression, right? "feel war" , instead of just looking at it http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif . (EDIT: <-- LOOK! a Game2 slogan! LOOOK!!! )
and I know for certain you can hire BMP's , DnA said something about some friends of him saving fuel for a BMP-2 to use in an airsoft skrim http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif . however, flying it over to the US is going to be.... "difficult".
"what's in that huge container?"
"oh, it's a Bronevaya Maschina Piekhota sir"
"could you explain what that is?"
"no. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/whistle.gif "
i just hope BIS are confident in them selves.
An in the work they are creating.

These scans are from PC Gamer UK. If you compare the main text (starting on pg 3) to this thread (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/forum/index.php?showtopic=21431) you can see they're the same. But the thread thing doesn't have the little extras or the pictures. PC Gamer (US) already released their August issue a couple weeks ago with no mention at all of OFP. In fact, they didn't even put OFP in their "50 best games of all time" thing, but yet BF42 was 9th.

If you look at the right side on nr 6 it says that the "Blue" US army will win eventually ?
Is this something that is pre-determind so the game will always end like that or am I losing something here ?
Nice read though.

Good point. That is kind of dumb but I am sure the player will keep playing until he beats the game so I guess Blue will win at some point.
But it would be wonderfull if you could end up outnumberd. 100 US soliders left alive on the map along with thousands of Russians. You would have to use guerrilla tactics. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/inlove.gif

About the E3 stunt idea I mentioned and how it would cost alot of money to buy copies of Battlefield and ghost recon etc to drive over with a T55. They could just photo copy boxes to look like the games and fill them with AOL CDs. I seriously can donate about a hundred AOL cds, I get one in the mail about every other day.
If you got the marines involved that would be cool to. They could drive up a LAV or something and I don't know... do brodies or something.
I'm serious about the T55 thing though, it can be done and for cheaper than people think. If the marines are involved it would be a lot cheaper, because then only the US tax payer has to pay for anything. I'm sure it would be a nice two in one deal though, the marines get a recruitment advertisement and BIS anounces game 2's title.
What ever stunt you come up with, parachuting is out of the question. E3 is held at an Expo center in the middle of Los Angles. You could never get through all the red tape required to paradrop a handkerchief full of skittles little on a vehicle.
The T55 would just be trucked in and dumped off to the side fueled up and then driven like 100 feet out to the parking lot. I'm sure they could afford that much fuel.
*edit* Jeeze I say "though" alot. I need a thesaurus.

I know http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif It's not VBS1 forum http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
There it is, I have been looking for that movie for another thread. Too late now though.
I'm hoping that BIS can evolve this system so that we are much more moveble then in that movie.
edit:ok saw the rest, deleting stupid talks http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
BTW from the video we saw, the chance that you get 2+ mount gun in one vehical (IN MP) is very high
Hooah BIS!
and now the very big next question(sorry if i ask for too much, but damn.........): with all these good looking stuff, is there any better "controlable" parachutes come as standard?
just think, now you dont need to use "eject" on menu or scripts to jump out your flight and land safely...............and more over, you can now (or atless have some chance) land at the place you want!(and different kinds of chutes should have different way to use it)
Here we go:

PC Gamer (UK) has their "100 best games of all time" in the Spetember edition, ie. available to buy in August. Last year, OFP was #22 or so (I started a thread on the subject) and I doubt with the recent hype, it will have dropped by many places if at all. - Famous last words!
Didn't OFP have little to no publicity in the States, with the majority of sales in the rest of the world? Hence the lack of mention in PC Gamer (US).
Hi all
If you do not think your favourite game mag is not doing enough about BIS the best thing to do is write them and ask if they know about OFP X box, ArmA and the Next Generation of ArmA for PC. Tell them you saw the article in UK PC Gamer amd it blew away the competition.

What do you mean by that? How have we ruined OFP?
I just that I think that OFP was ment for something more than some "shoebox" maps with G36s and 2s respawn. Dont get me wrong, many people (most on this forum) have done alot for this game. But there is a reason why we only have 400-500 people playing OFP everynight and thats something we need to prevent from happening in the comming games http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif And yes, Cheaters too but this game were pretty "outplayed" when that shit really started so it really hasnt so much to do with it.

Theres a very good reason why and its not down to cheaters.
Battlefield 2 will draw the crowd away from Battlefield and CounterStrike:Source will reign over CS1.6.
People like new + shiney but especially new. Thats why hardly anyone plays OFP 1.46 any more and im sure we took quite a few people away from Delta Force before then.
Actually, does anyone know if the Delta Force Extreem (or whatever its called) has been a success? I've seen no mention at all about it on this forum which is odd as they have done a very similar thing to ArmA - taken an older, successful game and added up-todate shineyness!
also the gameplay stuff
most of the gamers out there are just looking for some chance to show off how "good" they were(cheaters works in a slightly different way BTW), and hance looking for a fast, small, aggressive yet easy-to-play game while having a handful of ppl playing it too, and by doing so they get their fun(like a Ferrari or something like it, many ppl knows it, good to drive, and most importantly, great way to showoff)

I sent marek this PM:
Hello marek. I saw theese pages of that preview that you gave pcgamer, and after reading it, i got confused, Wich is about AmA and wich is about "OFP 2" ?
Take a look here (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=56;t=47300;st=0) , And you can see people talking about the house destruction thing you have in the new physics engine to be in AmA? is this true, cause reading what people wrote here made me even more confused.
Please answer me, I bought youre game several times so i think you ove me it http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge2.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/inlove.gif
And got this answer :
Destructible buildings and dynamic RPG gameplay is Game 2. From Arma there are just 2 screenshots and also some info in the main text of the article.

So after reading the UK PC Gamer Preview (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=56;t=47300;st=0)BIS gave them about their two upcoming games (AmA + "Game 2" Ofp2) Ive been thinking.
Cause this seems to perfect to be true, i know marek have said before that this game ("Ofp2) will be more like an RPG (Role Playing Game), but after reading this, i finally understand.
Ok what we get, is an interactive battlefield, with 2 sides, Blue (US army) and Red (Russia) Both teams have a "general" that is in controll of the whole battlefield and send commands to elements under the general, who sends it further to someone else. so say that a group of us soldiers was ambushed at a spot and didnt give a word from them since they went there, the general could send the closest group to check it out, it doesnt matter if you are in this group, but everything acts on everything in this game. this game isnt like centered on you as the player, its a whole battlefield! get it?
(just read it if you didnt understand http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif )
But think about the Multiplayer possibilities, huge battlefields controlled by an AI general on both sides. i cant wait to plant a c4 in the middle of a town and blow up shit and citizens in east and west without them noticing it was me (MUHAHAHA) theyre tractors are going down!
I also read that they will do whatever they can to add a deep eco system as possible, this really exites me, i cant wait to go hunting butterflies with my rocket launcher and irradicate all the rabbits with my shotgun i stole from this innocent civilian that gave me an angry look.
ill probably end up in this court marshall theyre talking about anyway....

I think BIS said that there wont be any mission like now. If I got this right it means that there are no loadings, things will just keep going. So destroyed buildings would remain destroyed for the rest of the game.

YES! YES! This is wicked. This will increase the singleplayer/co-op replay value a hundred fold.
Now the only thing that would be the icing on the cake is a battlemaker, in which you can specify allied and enemy resources, select specific or optional areas of interest for both sides to fight over, select a general set of ai profiles to guide the overall motives of each side. Hopefully you get the idea.
For example, it would be nothing short of the greatest thing ever, to have a battle editor that could possibly recreate a Jagged Alliance type scenario.
Just set up basic basic perameters of the mission, resources available, etc and let the ai do the rest. That would be tremendously awesome.
Of course, the mercs being blufor wouldn't necessarily need to be controlled by any higher-ai than the player since it's mostly squad based. However watching an ai commander respond to the actions of the player and execute plans accordingly, attempting to flush the player out or pin them down and kill them. Would be excellent.
I'm more interested in seeing better stealth elements, and more realistic sensory limitations to facilitate more guerilla type strategies on the player's part.

I sure as hell bet thoes Civils won't talk to you later... perhaps they will even place IED's around their town to teach you a lesson. Now that would be sweet.
I think its cool tho... because now you can't just be like "Well that town has a couple guys in it, LET CARPET BOMB!" You actually have to go in a rout them out and not kill Cilivians. It will add a whole new level that OFP was missing http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/yay.gif
ofp 2 campaign is going to be amazing beyond belief if they can pull this off....now losing and winning actually mean something. Imagine your squad getting cut to pieces and having to extract back to base via helicopter...except the mission doesn't end. You lost, they won, and the lines fall back a little.
With a dynamic campaign, there will now also be a difference between a stunning victory killing 30 of the enemy's men without taking a casualty or having a tough, pitched town capture where casualities were about even. Currently in ofp it doesn't really matter which one you did, because the enemy and your squad will just be replenished next mission. But retreats and advances will have a whole new dynamic element in ofp2...IMO, this is the biggest thing the game has going for it. If they can pull this off, it will be the one factor in ofp that will revolutionize "military sim."
