I heard that Alt Tabbing out of your game too much will eventually make things screwy... Mostly in the Mission Editor. I used to be able to Alt+ Tab fine out of the game, but nowadays I press Alt Tab, but the screen does not dissapear, so I gotta click like crazy on the bottom part of my screen, blindly to open up OFP again, and then try Alt Tabbing again.

It would be great if the mission editor had a little "Minus" button at the top, or even a "Maximize Minimize" button

It's (almost) impossible to use alt+tab for me. I have to repeat the command like crazy for serveral minutes to get out of ofp... I get pretty much the same effect as you describe. But I have never experienced anything "screwy" in the mission editor.

I like the idea of having Maximize and Minimize buttons, but IMO it would be better if BIS just fixed this alt+tab issue.

Alt tab works surprisingly well here compared to most games, some games it takes forever like americas army or other demanding Unreal based games, in OFP it always worked smoothly for me http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif .

What problems with ALT+TAB are you talking about?
I`ve played Flashpoint on 4 computers over the years, and I never had a problem with ALT+TAB wich I use very often when I test selfmade missions. Currently I run OFP under Win2K and again it`s working perfect. When I press ALT+TAB it takes a few seconds and I`m back on the desctop with an minimized OFP, and it`s no problem to go back to OFP. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif

My personal experience is that the ALT+TAB itself is just working fine. You can have problems with it when you are using a via northbridge and an ati videocard. That causes tthe game to crash or artifacts/crazy green screens.

I used to have Alt-Tab bug on my old Gateway computer that was:

700 Mhz PIII
192 MB RAM
32 MB Videocard

Now I upgraded to a dell (3 Ghz P4, 1 GB RAM, 128 MB Videocard) and I can Alt-Tab smoothly most of the time.

First I accumulated heaps of addons and missions

ALT-TAB became increasingly difficult

then I upgraded from 512 Mb to 1024 Mb

and ALT-Tabbing is very fluent again http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

Solution (at least for me) to your alt-tab problems. Set the ofp resolution (or vise versa) different than the desktop resolution AND make sure the refresh rate is different from desktop to OFP. Works everytime now for me.

Try the refresh rate first. That may work on its own.

That could work but IMO it's a stupid way to fix it.

Suggestions for improving further games need to go into the OFP2 Suggestions forum. Most suggestions here in this forum may not make it into ArAs due to development stages, keeping all suggestions in the suggestion forum will help reduce confusion and any extra double posting of ideas.
