Hey I was just wondering, Why have they not put the E3 video of the new game they are making on the internet yet. I would love to see it.

It's quite a qhile after the E3, and still no video ; I think the quality wasn't good enough, or the rumored 8-foot Placebo ate the camera.

Well I imagine someone videoed the video ( http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif), and I'm sure they wouldn't be overly bothered about quality, so it seems "mr 8-foot ate the camera" is the only reasonable explaination left..

I would like to see a well made video but maybe its still too early for that, anyway BIS likes to tease and im sure they will show it to us when the time is right, for now im more interested in ARAS http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif .

Has anyone mentioned anything about a video?

You gotta know best. Did anyone film in your cabin ?

Maybe someone used some secret agent hidden camera http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Maybe there was no Video o_O?

Well... all the game sites were posting all the same pictures, so either placebo was passing out press kit CD's with lots of pics or the news sites have been ripping each other off.

Given that there are a number of sequential shots, how hard would it be to startup gamecam, let it run for 5 minutes on the mission that the screenshots were made from, then pack it up and put it on the net? It would be a great test of BIS's bandwidth. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Video would be nice, but if the quality isn`t good, they probably won`t relase it.

Even as an alpha demo, It could be too poor, and they affraid that ppl out from the community wouldn`t get it correclty.

Then they should write
'THIS IS NOT HOW THE FINAL VERSION WILL LOOK LIKE, QUALITY IS NOT AS IT WILL BE AT THE END'
or something like that.
A tiny movie wouldn't hurt (feed me with more info!), but thats of course up to BIS http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I think they just used a slideshow, not a video.... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif

That would explain why all sites have the same pics http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

And Placebo's reaction points in that direction even more http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

After reading various articles, Im 99% sure they were showing live ingame footage.

DBR_ONIX
Jun 10 2005, 22:15
Placebos comment kinda goes against that..
As does the fact noones seen/heard anything about it..
on P2P-world, theres a film Flashpoint, Operation Flashpoint Reloaded (Didn't download, shame, I was curious http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif), and a few versions of that Flashpoint film..

So can one of the team clear up one question : "Was there ingame footage showen at E3?"

Might bring this thread to a meaningfull conclusion http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif

every piece of news always come outta nowhere. I can imagine a trailer coming out without any warning and ending like "Available tomorrow in you local store" http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

then there be riots and placebo will get on the internet and say "Only Joking" Then we attack him and the 8ft Placebo pulls out a machine gun and goes BF2 on our arses http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I have a good imagination http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif

Well I guess there were moving pictures, keeping in mind that they demonstrated the collaüse of a house after hit by a tank, but I assume visitors to their closed cabin were not allowed to take movies with cameras. This is indeed a standard procedure at closed software showrooms.

So imo the only videos we will see are videos from BIS, once the release get´s nearer and the game has taken steps towards the final product.

Shame http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif i really want to see some new media on 'game2' and Aras (that is what where calling them now days aint it?) even if the media just a few extra screen shots showing up some collapsing building, or a video of course would be hell of lot nicer http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif . Although at this moment im more intrested in seeing more ArAs screens/vids so we can see what the new ArAs egine will be like and can make some wild guesses at what its cable of (multi gunners, improved collsion handeling, better physics, destroyble buildings,etc..).

Maybe NOONE EVER recorded it? Or simply weren't allowed to? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif The BIS guys were using metaldetectors and xray to see if anyone had a cam, and IF they had, they got shot.. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/blues.gif

A E3 movie would have drawn alot more atention from the players, one of those cool movies like they do for vbs1 http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif .

I agree, it would attract alot more attention to have an official video. Since BIS said those screens were still only the alpha version I bet the reason we're not seeing anything is because they want to show stuff thats closer to the actual retail copy of Game 2 http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

EDIT:

Arghh, I should really have read the post more carefully http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif

There were shots (that's why we know there is a V22 in the game)

IIRC there was one review site that said in their article (forgot wich site) that they recorded a little viedeo and wouls show it soon IF the quality was good enough ,but they seemed to have doubts about the quality at that moment ,so i think that held them from posting the video.

I believe if you've read the Gamespot hands on preview, that they had witnessed a few brief demos. This took place at E3.

Well the picies simhq posted in their article seems as though they where from the actual game being played or they might have been from a video that was being shown in full screen. We will never know!

That's a few years old, but based on the premis of "what happens at E3, stays at E3", anything we'd get would be seriously censored. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif

Maruk sure looks taller than the monster...
so, no footage then, atleast some ArAs footage would be nice http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/confused_o.gif .
