Yo i found this at http://ofp.gamezone.cz.

"Here is how I imagine OFP2 soldiers with right proportions of the head, body and muscles. What do you think? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif Also, I added a collar to the bulletproof vest of the US soldier. Without it, it would look like a fisherman's vest http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif Another important "detail" is a "noseband" on the helmet! I am absolutely sure that the developers are not blind and won't put such "mutants" into the final release...
Marfy "

The guy makes a very good point. The one on the left looks disabled! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif

As mentioned numerous times in numerous places, the pics are from pre-alpha, it's pretty pointless picking out every little problem at this stage, we do spot these things

ill use Placebo words..
I bet BIS will change it in order to become even more perfect http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

I agree on the US solider. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/sad_o.gif
But the russian solider is much better unedited. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

When I first looked at that screenshot I didn't see any problem, but now compared to Marfy's version, that soldier looks a bit like an "Oompa Loompa" form "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory". http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

And don't pretend you haven't seen it http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif !

sorry to post again, but:

if new engine is implemented as i think.. we will have Fat, Short, Thin, Small.. ugly, preaty (you name it) characters/soldiers. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Yeah, they did the same with flashpoint 1. The models didn't look realistic compared to a real US soldier duing the 1985 period, until the modding community fixed that. The picture on the left looks like the top of a storm-trooper helmet

Good Job Marfy those pictures show more than hundred words could express http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

specially the american soldier looks much better than the original counterpart (will be my benchmark for future OFP2 screenshots), these pictures show that BIS wont get arround changing them, very nice outlayed constructive criticism

I like Marfy's edition much better then the other one, the Russian however don't need a modification.

I didn't see any "before - after" effect in the russian soldier.

the BIS version of US Soldier had no chinstrap on his helmet... weird http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif

for the russian soldier..look at the head... i think he's right there too http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif
the bis' one has a bigger head..

May 29 2005, 15:22
Its not the head, its the helmet! http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wow_o.gif
Its way to big, it looks like something for chopper crews...

Marfy's one looks better...

I say Bis takes a 3D scan of multiple heads! human anatomy is too hard to be done by hand http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/tounge_o.gif

i agree with Marfy, and i think they should make the soldier as realistic as possible, real human body shape and real equipement size..... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif

The helmet and the vest needs to be changed, not necessarily the face.

The neck seems too big and the shoulders a bit low, im sure they will improve it in the future, keep in mind they must have worked very fast and very hard to have this build ready for E3. The russian ones look better.

Most of reall soldiers are not rambo stile boys.90% of them are normal humans, with normal musculature construction.75kg-85kg.

Indeed, I also that they have worked there ass to get it done to E3. Also that the Russian characters are more done then the US characters.

I agree as well from those pics US soldiers look like wimps (yeah yeah i know not everyone is arnold like but still these looked way out of proportion on the chest part).

Say how come Marfy isnt part of BIS yet considering they hired some of the best texturers already like Earl/Joe lemonade and a few others http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif .

Totally agreed on US soldier modification. BIS one looks a little bit out of proportion, specially the helmet and the shoulders.

Just opening real quick to add.......

Sorry I closed this so abruptly, it was the weekend so I try to keep forum things to a minimum.....

Please don't take the closure of this and the other thread as an indication that your constructive criticism is not welcome, that's not the case, the closures are simply due to the fact that where an obvious issue has been detected sometime ago and is already either fixed (eg mixing gun shadow in one of the E3 pics) or being worked on there's no point anyone spending more time dwelling on it http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif
