Majority from communiqué criticise title indirectly pursuit OFP - Armed Assault. My opinion is, that with me this title on the whole agree. OFP1 pursuit would with have ostentatious anologous title whitch will resembling OFP. For example "Operation (Peacemaker?)"

Armed assault isn't Opration Flashpoint 2, but only OFP with upgrade. Armed assault run on OFP Xbox engine.

I have no good ideas for what the game should be called, but BIS should change it's name to "Big Brass Ones". Look at what happened to Ghost Recon e.c.t. These good people have kept their cool and refused to follow the path of crappy, arcade-style console ports that everyone else seem to have taken.
Apart from our respect and admiration (and a bit of our money) for what they've accomplished so far, BIS deserves our grattitude for keeping the realistic, tactical FPS (for PC) genre alive.

At least it sounds almost like a military term. And it doesn't really have to state 2010 anywhere in the name.
Since it was Operation Flashpoint : Cold War Crisis, why not just change Cold War Crisis with a catchy term or phrase that reflects the current and impeding situations that it will be based on since it is in the very near future?

Does anyone know why in God´s name Codemasters own the name rights to Flashpoint? In the past Innerloop changed their publisher from Eidos to Codemasters and still both games were called Project IGI. Seems like a special contract... but why...

They are coming up with a new fictitious event in 2010, its easier for them to come up with a name that is related with the game theme and stuff, we would need to know a bit more about the game to come up with a decent game.

maybe codies own the title but who's gonna do a crap about it if the community calls it Operation Flashpoint 2. BIS could leave it nearly untitled and we'd still know it's OFP2. after all it's gonna be the real Operation Flashpoint 2 no matter what CM comes up with.

I can't believe I wont be able to continue to use the initials O F P, anymore without thinking Codemaster and getting epileptic spasms and migraine. Unless CM decides to bin OFP2, there's no possible future in any names closely OFP related. BIS will have to come up with a name that clearly seperates their game from CM's ripoff. I'm so angry, I want to protest peacefully outside their headquarters with an 'You bad persons, you!' sign.
The already named Armed Assault might actually become a bridge to BIS' next succes and they should consider keeping that name.
Armed Assault: Poseidon(I could get used to say AAP).
Armed Assault: The Modern Battlefield.
Armed Assault: Tiger Woods Pro Golf(To reach a wider audience and increase sales).

Poseidon is god of sea, but it is first working title for OFP.
Operation Poseidon is good alternative for OFP sequel.

That would be my theory at the moment. BIS is killing 3 birds with one stone:
1. Extra cash never hurt anybody.
2. They will have enough user feedback to polish the engine and fix major bugs.
3. Establish new brand name, so when "Game2" comes out nobody will ask questions like "WTF is that game?".

Eh,sounds too nationalist/patriotist/propagandic,just because you are fighting on one side does not mean you are fighting for freedome,okay sure you might be fighting for freedom for somebody however you are fighting to control the other person,in a way freedom is a point of view,I think OFP2 makes good enough sense,plus all the people who enjoy the game but don't visit the community will recognize it easier,otherwise they will think its a cheap ripoff of OFP1,and trust me,not everyone does visit the community,the guy that introduced me to OFP a year or two ago was using exact originality,no extra addons,mods,anything.
Of course it was 2 or 5 minutes in a mulitiplayer online game that I instantly fell in love with the game,even though the graphics weren't top notch (which I generally don't care about,but its a nice touch) the gameplay was awesome,I felt like I was in a real battlefield,brought me back to that movie "We were soldiers".

I will only buy the final version of OFP2.
I say this because i noticed there are of alot diference between AA and OFP2 pics. (i didnt like much the AA pics, they were in some way strange)
