Hi,

With Armed Assault on the way, I thought it would be fun for the community to get some deathcam quotes together.

Here's a few for starters, courtesy of my iPod:

"For I have seen my enemy,
I looked and he was me
and I have fed his family
and he has fought for me."
Big Country, "Return of the Two-Headed King"

"Neon lights, Nobel Prize. When a leader speaks, that leader dies."
Living Colour, "Cult of Personality"

"Better the pride that resides
in a citizen of the world
than the pride that divides
when a colourful rag is unfurled."
Rush, "Territories"

Cheers,
CH

i think it would be cool with a more diverse style of both old and new classic quotes.
"Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame"

"You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you.
Eric Hoffer (1902 - 1983)"

"Observe your enemies, for they first find out your faults.
Antisthenes (445 BC - 365 BC) "

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
Napoleon Bonaparte (1769 - 1821) "

"There are other worlds than these"

Jake Chambers

(Jake Chambers is a character in an epic fantasy. Name the story and author and you get a prize! Surely there are better quotes from this bit of work.)

Got this from a tomb stone in Baldur's Gate:

"Lets split up, we'll cover more ground"

Favorite Motorhead line:

"Be a good soldier and die where you fell"

Too true, after every death in the first CWC campaign I thought this too myself. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

"Though darkness be rent by noise and flame, let not the souls of men be taken in the crucible of war."
-Imperial Armour

"Victory is acheived through mettle.
Glory is acheived through metal."
-Imperial Armour

Considering it's from WH40k, it might not fit the realistic selection of deathcam quotes. But overall, in the WH books there are many I think would fit the modern war theme quite well. Especially in the Imperial Guard books.

Otherwise, there are always the war poets.

"What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?
-- Only the monstrous anger of the guns.
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle"
-Wilfed Owen, Anthem for Doomed Youth

"Sombre the night is.
And though we have our lives, we know
What sinister threat lurks there."
Isaac Rosenburg, Returning We Hear the Larks

Could always pull a couple out of 'Dead Mans Dump" as well.

Part of Exposure by Owen:
“Therefore, not lath, we lie out here: therefore were born,
For love of God seems dying.
To-night, His frost will fasten on this mud and us,
Shriveling many hands, puckering foreheads crisp” – Wilfred E.S. Owen, Exposure

Probobly find a better one, that's from an essay I did for class.

One from a German war poet, whose name I do not know:
"Argonne Forest, Argonne Forest,
Soon thou willt be a quiet cemetary.
In thy cool earth rests
much gallant soldiers' blood."

I can find more when time allows me to.
