Story:Delta Force in Afghanistan!
---------------------------------

The land is in a state of constant chaos again since the withdrawal of the VDV.
Russia couldnt keep them any longer in the country, since they had their own conflicts they had to attend to.And since the war that raged in this land couldnt be stopped by the Russian Airborne Troops, the VDV had to obey the commands of their supiriors. Even though they didnt want to leave this conflict, because many of them felt that they were about to gain control of the hearts and minds of the population.

WarLords and their Warbands soon filled the power vacuum again, left by the retreating forces.

Now it will be up to the DELTA FORCE to bring peace back to this country! They will try to succeed, where the well equiped VDV failed.

The main responsibility lies in your hands,since you were designated the Combat CO for this mission. You have enough manpower, but it will be up to you to get all of your men through this alive!

You have enough hardware to invade any country. Headquarters assigned you strong air support, A-10 Warthog flights throughout the day, giving fast air support, as well as AH-60L Direct Action Penetrator as CAS support. But you were warned not to risk any Collateral Damage, so you better think twice, before you order in such firepower.

Your CO will provide you with all the needed intel. Your advanced communication and the unlimited air support will turn the tide in this conflict to our favor. But other wars have taught that a country can't be controlled through air superiority alone. In this hilly country it is better to rely on infantry tactics.

The men you were assigned are capable of fullfilling any task that might arise, so you should be confident about the outcome of this conflict.

Mission comes in two flavors, one is addonheavy using alot of community content, the other one is reduced in addons, more fit for slower computers.

A short intro on how to play this one-mission-campaign:

The Player Character Functions available only at Base:
"Rest" your troops and yourself, to fight another day. Heals wounded and rearms squad, and if you rest back at base it fills squad back up and resuplies vehicles, once the radio operator is lost, use the rest at base option to get a new radio operator assigned.
"Detach Team 1" Leaves Team 1 back at base, can be called back into the squad with radio code "Rally Troops".
"Detach Team 2" Leaves Team 2 back at base, can be called back into the squad with radio code "Rally Troops".
"Detach Team 3" Leaves Team 3 back at base, can be called back into the squad with radio code "Rally Troops".
"Rally Troops" (if you use the detach option in base the troops will wait there untill you rally them again)
"Rearm Squad" to quickly rearm your squad with one mouseclick.

At the Map Table:

"Mission" Report to your CO before and after a mission. Before to get assigned a mission, and after to confirm your mission success.
After a mission is assigned to you by the CO check the map for the location of the next encounter.

"Abort Mission" abort the current objective, but you get a small popularity drop.

At the Video table:

Choose between "BASIC and ADVANCED", ADVANCED modus adds action menu options "Detach Troop 1-3".

At the Armoury:

Pick your weapon loadout at the ammo crates in the armoury. Designate your squad with any weapon, he will keep his main weapon, untill you assign a new one. Weapon crates are refilled with the rest function.

Radio Codes:

Use the Radio Code "Para" to get Inserted to the place where you click on the map by parachute. You can alter your flightpath by picking the radio code again, but once the heli is going in for the drop, it is no longer possible, a message to the left top will signal this.

Use the Radio Code "Insertion" to get Inserted by fast rappel to the place where you click on the map. You can alter your flightpath by picking the radio code again, but once the heli is going in for the drop, it is no longer possible, a message to the left top will signal this.

Use the Radio Code "Extraction" to get extracted back to base, no click necessary, but the chopper starts at home base, so it will need the same time to get to you as the insertion flight needed to get there! You will be informed about the distance of the extrac heli to the bottom left, Ectrac heli can be redirected inflight, just give the radio code again, the Extrac will head for the new designated target.

Use the Radio Code "MedEvac" to extract your wounded and dead (Leaving Friendlies behind will lower your popularity) by clicking on the map.
Pick a spot right ontop of you, but be aware, the chopper starts at home base, so it will need the same time to get to you as the insertion flight needed to get there.  You will be informed about the distance of the medevac heli to the bottom left.

Use the Radio Code "SMOKE" to get a smoke fire mission, once targeted the smoke will come in for a couple of rounds, droping on the targetarea, blocking the ais sight, jam2 aisight obscuring objects used with the smoke fire mission.

Use the Radio Code "Flare" to get a flare fire mission, once targeted the flares will come in for 1 minute droping on the targetarea

Use the Radio Code "ARTI" to get a artillery fire mission, once targeted the Rounds will come in. A message to the upper left reports when the firemission is complete.

Use the Radio Code "CAS" to order in close air support, a Blackhawk Direct Action Penetrator will start at airbase and procceed to the designated target area, CAS can be redirected inflight.

Use the Radio Code "CLUSTER STRIKE" to order in a A10-LGB attack with a cluster bomb strike mission.

Use the Radio Code "LGB STRIKE" to order in a A10-LGB attack with a double precission bomb strike mission.

radio codes for the radio operator, once you lose your radio operator you wont have these functions anymore

the functions are:

1. Call HQ: get update on mission status, and report in successfull or failed mission, get new assignments (rest in field, but new troops only available once rest at base)

2. Call Insertion: Call a insertion helicopter, the helicopter will take you from the field to new directions, can be redirected inflight

3. Call Para: Call a insertion helicopter for paradrop, will take you from the field to new directions, can be redirected inflight

Vehicles at base:

If you dont want to be inserted by heli, use a vehicel from the base instead (You will be resuplied with new vehicles with every rest)
Only the 3 HMVVs, 3 M2A2s, 3 Littlebirds, 2 A10-LGB, 2 Blackhawks, and the Helis for Insertion, Extraction and Medevac are unlimited.

Be carefull with the weapon of your choice, in populated cities it is better to look before you shoot, specially using nades in close combat, or doing bombing runs with a A10-LGB. All missions can be solved by heli insertion, the base weapons are supposed to give the possibility of an versital advance, as is the possibility to change the squads weapon loadout. The heavy weapons are supposed to be implemented into further battle modules.

Bugs:
----------------------------------------
No intro movie, (but win and lose outro) but mission plays like a movie so it shouldnt be missed.
Lag can occur during spawning of big quantities of opfor and civilians.
Sometimes the insertion helicopter gets stuck (to avoid it try not to use time acceleration during liftoff), once stuck reasign a new insertion spot that isnt as far away, sometimes waiting till the computer has layed a path does the job too.

Playtips:
----------------------------------------
The mission was programmed on a P4/HT 3.0gHz, and tested with a view distance of 2100 meters with normal terrain, adjust your ingame options according to your pc.
Setviewdistance according to your system, no restriction are given through the mission.
(Fog is bound to bad weather and Sandstorms)
If you use DXDLL (who dont?) deactivate reflections by pressing command-i ingame, or with the configurator.
(will save cpu power, and there is no water in the map)
If you use pbo´s very often its a good idea to depbo them, and back pbo them uncompressed, this will shorten the loading times of Operation Flashpoint and missions. (Tip thanks to Sanctuary)

the 3 Littlebirds availble at base (2x"MH6" 1x(either AH6 Gunship or AH6 Multi Purpose Fighter)) are for the player flown insertion, the AI handles them very well, so that the player can use a gunship and let the squad follow with the "MH6"´s

the AI flown insertion/para uses the BAS Blackhawks, the insertion makes use of the BAS Fast Rappel system, allowing the player to be inserted within cities

i was thinking about a AI flown insertion with the Littlebirds, but since the AI handles the birds well, and i used up all my radio codes i left it out, but i will make good use of the Littlebirds, i was thinking of working on a support call, let a squad of DELTA´s be flown in by them, to support the player (or how about troop resuply infield, once the player looses 5 squadmembers he will get the new grunts flown to him, but might be a ballance overkill, so might save this option for the Addon-Heavy version, since it plays much harder with the RHS tanks)

you got the option to deactivate the function, by choosing "Basic" at the video table, so you dont have to use it, if you always take the whole squad that is the way to go http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

i find the "Detach 1-3" quite conftable though, they only appear at base, and gives the player the option of taking different teams on the assignments, once the player leaves the base parameter the options will dissapear, so no crowded action menu when the fighting begins http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

i will implement that the radio gets transfered to one of the other team members if the radio operator gets left behind, or make him the only unit that is always available (he caries a m4 m203 scoped/suppressed so he is good for some support)

team 1: Radio Operator, Medic, AT (all equiped with suppressed rifles)
team 2: AT, Marksman, Autorifleman, Mgunner, Smaw, Grenadier
team 3: Spotter, Sniper

Honcho,

I&#39;ve been watching your progress on these two missions for a while, and I look forward to your Delta release (not to mention the new rebels). However, I&#39;d like to propose that you use the newer 2.1 Heliux. I know you didn&#39;t like the addon dependencies, and I totally agree, but with everything you&#39;ve mentioned as required addons for the basic version, you shouldn&#39;t have any issues. I have all of those things, and the 2.1 Toyota works fine. I empty the vehicle cargo so there isn&#39;t anything in there except what I want to put in, plus I just use empty units and move a rebel or afghan in it and I haven&#39;t had a problem.

Just a thought, as I like using the newer 2.1 version, especially when I have the sport model for the Special Operators and the regular version for the locals.

If you don&#39;t mind, could you make a version without the tracers, too? Or use the WBE tracers? I&#39;m just not really fund of the the BN tracers.

interesting that you dont like the BN_tracer, since i really love them, i prefer the WBE tracer for vehicles, like the FFXUR uses them, but tastes are different i know http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

could you post the values, how you use the WBE tracer, i used them some time ago, but reduced the size to minimum, to have a realer feel to them, but didnt like them for infantry, since they look like fluffy tennis balls when coming towards the player

i will take a look at those values, and if i like it i will make a version with it, and if i dont, i will consider making a BN_tracer-less version for the people that use a mod anyway to play the mission, or for people who just dont like the BN_tracers

yes i know, but i hardly ever get to see it, since i use ironsight/scope while shooting, i hardly ever shoot without (only on close range, but most of the time my squadmates take care of the enemy at that range, before i can react)

However, I&#39;d like to propose that you use the newer 2.1 Heliux. I know you didn&#39;t like the addon dependencies, and I totally agree, but with everything you&#39;ve mentioned as required addons for the basic version, you shouldn&#39;t have any issues. I have all of those things, and the 2.1 Toyota works fine. I empty the vehicle cargo so there isn&#39;t anything in there except what I want to put in, plus I just use empty units and move a rebel or afghan in it and I haven&#39;t had a problem.

Just a thought, as I like using the newer 2.1 version, especially when I have the sport model for the Special Operators and the regular version for the locals.

i took a good look at the Hiluxmg and Hiluxsport 2.1, and as much as i would like to use them, specially the Hiluxsport for the operatives, i wont, since the addon has dependencies to some of BAS weapons, i think the DERA pack from BAS must be installed for the Hilux 2.1 to function, to bad a rework of it would be more than nice, maybe with a little dirtier texture, to make it look more used, and of course get rid of any addondependencies, the function implemented are very usefull and i would love to use an updated version of the vehicle http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

i took a look at those tracers and i am just not to satisfied with them, but i consulted my Dynamic Mission Alliance Partners and Sanctuary was so kind to remind me, that the tracers use a fired eventhandler, and since i use a fired eventhandler for the disperse script already there would be 2 scripts running with every shot http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif so the idea that concludes from this, is to make a eventhandler free version of both missions, this will have the benefit for the mission to work more properly with any mods out there, since those mods use eventhandlers anyway no use of doing the same thing over and over again (i will release an optional BN_Tracer version but only 1 firedeventhandler per AI unit (either tracer or disperse script)

yes i know what you mean, me too am kind of done with the VDV, i hardly work the mission anymore, the new insertion from the BAS Birds is just too much fun, it behaves much better than the BIS MH-17, as does the Direct Action Penetrator in contrary to the Hokum (which i will revert back to the Hind in the next update of the VDV, the Hokum just cant handle those high afghan mountains, it tends to crash alot, specially with 4x time acceleration http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/crazy_o.gif )

Due to lack of time, i have not tested this island yet, but from screenshots, it seems the different house are very close from each other.

Didn&#39;t this give problem to the AI ? while it looks very nice , it was already a problem in the main town for the rework of CAT Afghan island where the AI often stayed away from some areas of the town.

yes its true, some places are "troublesome" for the AI to enter, and i must admit that the main ammocrates at base/HQ are not reachable for the AI squadmembers, so its for the player only, but those tight placed houses add alot to the athmosphere, it just feels right, and sometimes the AI does enter houses, and goes through them, all is kind of unpredictable once fighting in cities, but its great fun http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

the map itself is great, the looks and the elevations, everything just feels right, you should take a look yourself, you will like it for sure http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

EDIT:in the mission capture the leader i played in the screenshots above the AI followed me through a house to a inner yard to the leader, so Remo did a good job on enterable houses, the AI uses them

i started some other OFP work meanwhile, but once the GMER 1.2 are released i will pick up work on the missions again.

If I decide to try and do this for GMER 1.3 (currently not planned to go past 1.2) I&#39;d want to change all the jjr tags as allow we used his addon as a base Rabbit and Myself have put a lot of work into it. It means it wont be backwards compatible but all that will need doing is changing any &#39;jjr&#39;s to the new tag, probably &#39;gmer&#39;.

I would say leave it to a 1.3 version, I can remember the Generic OPFOR pack, it had alot of hidden sections and it ended up unplayable because of that, I think that hidden sections can mess an addon up. If you have predifined units they will work much more stable, specially in a MP enviroment.

separate addon since it will be totally diffeent
i think that having too much hidden selections like generic opfor gives more lag in large numbers for lower end comps, so pls keep the addons separate but if you guys keep the lag down make it the same pack

Say your to take out a certain officer during a meeting, you know its him because he&#39;s got a black beret when the rest have blue ones...

I dunno what&#39;s so hard about getting rid of a spawn lag. If i understand this right, it&#39;s just about adding all unit types into the editor that you&#39;d want to spawn later.

(i always drop them over the ocean)

That way the resources are loaded at missionstart and not in the midst of the spawn, causing lags.

There is a bit more than spawn lag (it is not that much a problem, as we have several solutions for it) between now and Honchoblack mission release time.

How about making a GUI for assigning the units to the missions etc? That way the end user doesn&#39;t have to mess with scripts. I do programming but have never even looked at the OFP scripting language - is it easy?

Such a GUI would need all the addons that are needed for the mission variants, e.g. all units that will be available through such a GUI would have to be presented on the harddrive. So such a thing would not work out.

Sanctuarys approach is the best in my opinion, since he uses the default BIS units, by knowing the names of the units, its easy to change the units to desired ones. A great effort is put into making the scripts modular, which means that you can change units in a script, and dont have to worry about the need to change it in other scripts too, so its quite easy to change units, once you know which scripts are involved.

Scripting is fairly easy, once you start reading scripts, just depbo the Dynamic Afghanistan mission and start reading the scripts. The heart of the DA mission is the sever/mission_control.sqs, read it and find out how the missions are called. Ok i got problems with DA mission as i said in the A&MC thread. I got all addons i double checked them myself and the missions boots me to the main menu after showing the intro , what gives?

And i dont get any missing addon errors either which i get otherwise if i am missing something.

Best to try the "light" version of the mission, to see if it still kicks you out.

If it doesnt, the trouble is with one of the addons that are extra needed for the Addon Heavy mission.

1. I seriously doubt the Artic 5Ton truck is used in your mission.
2. Even if it is I have it in the mod folder anyway.

I am using Mp_5t_Truck_pack_v1.2 and have all three PBOs in my afghanistan mod folder. Is any one else getting this error?

I actually dont have the woodland and arctic pbos of the Mp 5t Truck in my DA:DFAH modfolder.
Maybe try that, move the woodland and arctic pbos to a not used folder and try the mission then.

Actually the problem can be inside of the artic truck addon itself.
If the addon config is faulty, sometime this error happen when it should not.

I am using Mp_5t_Truck_pack_v1.2 and have all three PBOs in my afghanistan mod folder. Is any one else getting this error?
I just got this error too and came on to see if anyone else had lol.

I played it some today and did find two small hindrances. When you get a mission the text that pops up stating “Support for the terrorist is X high” it disappears incredibly fast, so fast it’s nearly impossible to read it sometimes.

Another little thing is the Helo down rescue missions. I’ve had 3 of them assigned so far and all of them have been failed in very short time. I always get the message “Both pilots are dead RTB immediately”. The third rescue mission I got I timed how long it took from briefing to failure and it only took 40 seconds. The moment I was assigned the mission I sprinted to the armed little bird and took off and flew high speed towards the objective as fast as I could, and then 40 seconds later when I’m not even a fourth of the way to the objective “Both pilots are dead RTB”.

Am I really too slow? It just doesn’t seem like you have enough time at all to reach the crews before they are slaughtered.

The helo down mission is not very easy to tweak, if the spawn point of the Opfor is to far, you arrive at the crashsite with no enemies close by. If the spawn point is too close, you will not have a chance, and the pilots will be killed each time.

In tests, the distance of the spawning for the helo down mission seemed to be good. Strange to hear that you always get a pilot down message and loose the mission before. I will look into the mission to see if I can reproduce the error.

I must say i love these dynamic missions, feels more real to have these sort of missions and not usual "plant this bomb on the tank and escape with that Cessna".
Not my cup of tea, this on the other hand totally rewrites the OPF experience.

To bad the AI isnt up to the challenge, only once or twice have i been bumrushed, it is really scary when it happens.

Are you using the normal Flashpoint saves? If so, these cause problems in DMA missions. To save, go to the TV in the command building and select save from your orders menu. You will not be able to save while a mission is in progress.

what seems strange is the saving location, since it is searching in the VDV (DA VDV13.Cat Intro) and in the DA Addonheavy (DA DF AH.Cat Intro) version folder, but not in the DA DF.Cat Intro folder where it should have saved http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wow_o.gif

sorry the mission is in a sub folder of the VDV folder, because i put it in multiple places to see if it would work.

And sorry about not being Specific, I’m using CSLA 2 As well. Not sure if it would make a difference though as VDV worked fine.

EDIT: I copied the MAP_Misc.pbo from the &#92;addons folder, Csla&#92;addons and it worked fine.

The CBT-Desert HMMWV (TOW9 is functional. I tried it before with the "@<hidden>"-Minimod. To make it work in this mod, I copied all CBT-addons (because I dont know which single CBT-file exactly) in the "@<hidden>"-Addons-folder.

Try starting the mission with only the needed addons, the error you describe never occured during testing sessions. My guess is that you have some kind of addon conflict. The mission should load normal, but it does take a little time after saying "get ready for duty" to initiate. http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

Great campaign, it is much better than most of standard campaigns. I can&#39;t even imagine how much work it took to make it.
It seems it doesn&#39;t work properly with ECP. Have you tested it?

One more thing - TOW on HMMWV doesn&#39;t work for me. It works in editor but not during the mission. I&#39;m getting smoke & sound but no missile. And an error message:

Does anyone have any tips on staying alive? Night seems to be my best chance (had 2 night patrols and lost nobody) but I cant seem to stay alive in the day time. Also, how can I select individual men in your squad? For example, telling one AT soldier to shoot at a tank, truck etc, and how to tell a medic to heal a wounded soldier. Thanks guys.

There is no medic in the dynamic afghanistan missions, since I use the medevac for that purpose. I thought that it would add to the immersion, if the player couldnt use the medic in field, but has to call the med evac from base. The time needed for the Medevac to reach the objective will let the player think twice than to rush into danger.

Dynamic Afghanistan was tested using ECP, and no bugs where found that could break the mission (but error messages may occur, without breaking the mission).

This question should be addressed to the makers of the addon (Combat), since I didnt alter any of the used addons.

To change a MG gunner in the mission, you need to alter following files:

1. for the initial spawning of your units change the mission folder/support/resuply1.sqs change the units into the ones you want.

2. for further spawns, once you lost your teamates in the mission change the mission folder/support/resuply.sqs into the units you prefer.

To stay alive its best to use team tactics. Dont rush forward in a Rambo style, trying to kill all enemies by yourself. Rather search for good defensive position and lure the enemy to you. Dont try to shoot the enemies all by yourself, but rather keep out of harms way and assing targets to you squadmates using the binocular.

To address individiual tasks to your squad, pick a unit using the F1-F12 keys and push 6 for the action menu. Then pick the desired action from the menu.

Just started playing this mission/campaign and I have to say great work Honchoblack http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/notworthy.gif I&#39;ve only played a couple of missions, but the random nature of it adds a lot of excitement.

One question Im a little embarrassed to ask is how do you get the AI in your squad to land their Littlebirds? I landed, the hovered, I told them to "turn off engine", thinking they were smart enough not to do it mid air. I thought wrong. Seems they haven&#39;y masterd autorotation either.

I think this random campaign engine would be great for a guerilla style campaign too.

Anyway fantastic work Honchoblack&#33; Im having shitloads of fun with this&#33;&#33;

I cant get this to save&#33; I didn&#39;t use the normal save, only the one near the TV and of course the save that occurs every time you successfuly complete a mission. But No joy http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/help.gif

Even when I die and click "Retry" same problem. OFP crashes and I get the no data error.

I&#39;m using the Addon Heavy version, with ECP, Llaumax Sky and Sanctuary&#39;s DMA Anims. I did add a trigger that covers the base in order to activate ECP for Lasers Deltas.

And regarding the TOW, you need to have the version of CBT_Misc.pbo that comes with the HMMWVs. It seems the later version is incompatible (well that fixed the problem for me).

Awesome addon, really like the format

I got a couple of problems though&#33;

First - I managed to track down a version of the rebels but it appears to be the wrong version, as I get an error message "can&#39;t find ......rebel something", it seems I have some rebels but not all. The link for 1.21 rebels is down

Second - The missions never seem to complete, for instance I get a mission where someone is holed up, I take a squad, do a great job eliminating any resistance then recy the site to find no-one there, though it could possibly be this rebel which cant be found.

Any help would be great&#33;

Now i am not sure i can win it, though. I read the coin doc and it says that you have to get ennemy support fall to zero, but in my mission support keeps increasing, even without troops or civilian casualty, and with heavy ennemy casualties.

Is there something i forgot to read in the various readmes provided ?

Maybe you lose too much of your squad in many missions? In that case AFAIK it&#39;s good to get the dead home by a medevac.

then use google or altavista to locate the last missing ones (i&#39;m not squre if the BAS are still avilable anywhere though ?)

it&#39;s very hard to upload everything, it weighs more than 1gig here &#33;

That&#39;s not a file name, it&#39;s the class name of BAS MH-6 Little Bird for OFPR v. 1.85+. You need the following files:

bas_lbs.pbo
bas_lbs185.pbo
bas_soar.pbo
bas_soar185.pbo
bas_soarpilots.pbo

and probably JAM2 or 3 too.

There&#39;s also some CBT, HYK, LSR & MCAR in that package, you can delete them, they are not related to BAS addons. Leave the C8X, SUHC, JAM and TACTevents.

I thought I had everything lined up and ready to go but I guess I was wrong. Through all my Google&#39;ing, I only managed to come up with the newer Toyota Hilux version....v1.1 doesn&#39;t seem to be hosted anywhere. However, this did not show as an error when loading the campaign. The error that did come up reads: "No entry &#39;campaigns&#92;dma da df ah.catintro&#92;description.ext.Campaign&#39;

The campaign showed up in the book, but of course would not load. Did I miss something?

I had the same problem you have to put it in MISSIONS folder not in CAMPAIGN folder, hehe same problem as me...

just aquestion btw guys, i have a "missing MCAR_engine " message at each start, i click OK and the mission runs, but still i would like not to have it.

I have of course the MCAR_Engine in my addon folder, so it&#39;s really weird.

Do you have the same error message guys ?

rollnloop, I got the same msg so I went and dl&#39;d it. I put it the Res/addons folder. File is dated 1/1/2006 and is 90kb. It was listed as one of the &#39;needed addons&#39; for the CBT hmmwv iirc.

Unfortunately it doesn&#39;t work for me, i have tried with this version you tell me (0.801), also with 0.9 and 0.91, and wherever i put them (my afghan mod/addons folder, res/addons or simply addons), MCAR_engine is still reported missing at mission start.

Wich version of combat_HMMVW do you have ? I have 1.2.1, tought it could be related.

I also have some script text on top of screen about those HMMVW after resting at base, am i alone ?

Well, I hope any of the mission designers can help me with my questions: I did not manage to get the mission started. I wanted the addon-heavy variety and searched a while to find all required addons. I have GOTY edition with patch 1.96.

Nearly all of them, however, were only available in a more recent version than listed in this tread or in an altogether other form like Toyota Hilux which I found only as a &#39;special edition&#39; ; same goes for the island CAT Afghanistan (it was available as &#39;revisited 1.2&#39; and &#39;revisited special edition 1.2&#39http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif.

Now I put them all in a new addon folder (except the .intro files for CAT island which went to the Res/addons folder) , named it @<hidden> Afghanistan Delta Force and made a shortcut to this folder.

Didn&#39;t work. Upon starting the mission (it was inside missions folder) OFP told me it was missing all of the addons i actually had in my newly created folder.

I tried also to use Kegetys OFp launcher 2.18 but this also had no effect.

I know from some time ago when checking another addon, forgot which it was, that this little bugger wouldn&#39;t start from a modfolder; instead i had to put it into my Res/addons folder, a procedure of which I usually strongly disapprove since doing that on a regular basis will lead any install of OFP quickly into a mess.

So, I don&#39;t want to put all of my Dynamic Afghanistan stuff into the Res/addons folder, especially not the old BAS files since they will cause conflicts if I would try to load my @<hidden> folder any time after that.

Any ideas on what could be done to make this mission run on my system?

Thank You, Blazin, taking out the spaces in the name of my modfolder did the trick. I still receive messages about missing addons which are definitely there, but I played a couple of missions already and all vehicles and units seem to work.

But unfortunately saving doesn&#39;t work; I had studied the readme and therefor only saved at base near the video instruction area and tried then to press the &#39;continue&#39; button. First time it went well but when I quitted playing, switched off the PC and tried to load a couple of hours later, I got a CTD. Same thing when doing a new game, saving after one mission and loading the game. Neither inside the base nor, after quitting and reopening OFP, from main menu I could load my progress. Instead, CTD again.

Well, I&#39;ve been playing the Dynamic Tonal and the Sonora Campaigns before and those had saving systems similar to Dynamic Afghanistan - but with those missions saving and loading worked on my PC flawlessly and numerous times.

I would be glad if you had any tips on what could have gone wrong with the Dynamic Afghanistan saving.

Has it done it a few times (Like, you start again, save again, and load again... And CTD again?)

Maybe you have to RESTART then LOAD from the video table thing, insted of pressing continue. Thats how it worked in some of the Dynamic missions I&#39;ve played (I aint played this one for a long time).

Thank you very much for helping me out Blazin. In fact, you were right about me using ECP. I should have remembered the mysterious ways of the OFP when it comes to combining addons.

While I played, saved, loaded the Dynamic Tonal Campaign &#39;Sonora&#39; with Tonalredux and ECP addons combined (even using a special ECP with GRAA 3.0 addons and the appropriate config from GRAA 3.0 download) without ever experiencing a problem, the same didn&#39;t work for Dynamic Afghanistan, no matter if I took my special ECP+GRAA 3.0 or the unaltered standard ECP. But today I played Dynamic Afghanistan without ECP - worked fine, didn&#39;t make a difference if I pressed &#39;continue&#39; from main menu or ingame, both ways it worked.

Later I tried loading DMA LEAN/ROLL mod together with Dynamic Afghanistan via Desktop Shortcut combination (-mod=DADFDAH;@<hidden>) and this also worked fine.

One thing is still to mention, though: the saving system of Tonalredux &#39;Sonora&#39; is slightly different from Dynamic Afghanistan&#39;s in one important aspect.

&#39;Sonora&#39; has a &#39;save&#39; action as well as a &#39;load&#39; action for the player&#39;s action menu if he is near his tent and therefor the creators of &#39;Sonora&#39; stated it mandatory to start a new campaign every time you want to play &#39;Sonora&#39; and had quitted OFP before, and then load the savegame when you are ingame via action menu by pressing &#39;load&#39; after the new campaign game was started.

But you could also load a save when you stayed ingame, i.e. when your mission failed, your team lost almost all men but you made it back to base, you could press &#39;load&#39; and you got your savegame from before that failed mission.

Unfortunately, you don&#39;t get a &#39;load&#39; action in your action menu in Dynamic Afghanistan. There is just a &#39;save&#39; action near the video table, and the only way to load a game is pressing the standard OFP option &#39;retry&#39; or, if starting from main menu, &#39;continue&#39;. Starting the mission as new mission will destroy your savegame.

So, my conclusion -thanks to your help and valuable tips- is that Tonalredux &#39;Sonora&#39; works fine with ECP+GRAA 3.0 due to it&#39;s different saving/loading system or simply because even if some addons may work together, one of these won&#39;t do so with another partner.

after hours of searching and installing (im quite new to ofp) i found all addons that are needed for heavy addon version

but i cant find the right version of JJR Generic Middle East Rebels 1.21 http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/help.gif
im running the map with jrr generic middle east rebels v 1.1 updated, and i cant complete some missions because i think some units that use this addon dont spawn (couldnt find the leader in a raid-mission), i also had one patrol mission with no enemys at all

im surprised i can play it with ecp, graa3 and dmalean too,
theres just 1 little problem, i think caused from graa:
the faces look messed up

can anyone help me fixing the faces and more important: a link for the addon?

i will now try to get graalight running with ecp, hopefully than it works

i played the mission a little bit more now, without graa just standard ecp, and i had a few problems, dunno if they r coming from ecp, i will play it again without ecp to figure it out

1. thing was, althoug i havent played that much, a few times my squad was stuck in terrain, and wasnt able to move in any direction, i guess thats a general problem with the cat island

than i had a CTD when i shot a tank with IT rounds from the heavy sniper and blowed it up , however at the next try, i blowed a tank up without any problems. (damn i love that weapon http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/pistols.gif http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif )
and a very weird bug, had it the last 2 extractions that i played:
one extraction went exactly like this:
i was in the field on a mission,mission not complete, i was hurt and went out of ammo, i called extraction heli NOT medevac heli, heli came picked me and squad up, flew btb, at base 1. thing was, heli tried to land on a landingpad that was already used by a little chopper, the landing almost lead to a crash, i was lucky that nothing bad happens, whole squad disembarked, heli back in the air, disappeared from my view in midair, but was not far away, and a message said EXTRACTION HELI DOWN or something like that http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/huh.gif had that 2 times now at base, the other time i dont know what happened before. as long as i have unlimited extraction helis i dont care, just thought someone like to know... http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/smile_o.gif

and another thing, i dont know if it should be like that..., when im in the field on a mission and i call for insertion heli, the heli is there right in the next seconds, shouldnt it take a while for the heli to fly to my position? or is it for saving time?

I found all of the needed addons at ofp.info afaik when I was looking for them, just put RHS/BAS/JJR/AG_Smith into the search and you&#39;ll find the stuff.

Saving on this mission doenst work good though, even by using the missions saving technique.

Their used to be a fixed bas_mh6185.pbo file on the avon ladys site years ago&#33; I know because i downloaded it. I beleive some other site had it as well. It was that long ago i can&#39;t remember. Considering the great Honchoblack is nowhere to be found..I was wondering if anybody knows how and where I would look in this mission&#39;s code to implement an in-game load feature at the tv screen? A feature that the GDCE and Tonal mission has? That would make this mission completely functional again. I have some programming experience so I&#39;d like to see if I can fix this thing myself. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I will not release this to the public as to break Honchoblack&#39;s "copyright", this is just to see if I can get this mission 100% working on my PC and maybe give it out privately to a couple of fellow OFP players who play this mission as well.

As far as I know I have no idea why your guys are getting injured from the rappel, I&#39;m guessing it could be from your use of mods or lack thereof. I had the same problem on Armed Assault so I know what that&#39;s like, makes it almost unplayable. I play using TB&#39;s (You&#39;re the man Thunderbird, plz work for BIS one day.) FFUR FYI.

You&#39;re missing some addons...M925 Truck pack for one. The other is something with weapons.

This happens sometimes. Delete saved games and start over. That&#39;s the only fix I know of.
