Hate to bust the bubble, but I do believe those are OFP2 screesnhots...

The Boxshot for Operation Flashpoint on the XBox looks like this

There is no "Armed Assault" written anywhere on it.

Also, those units look far too detailed to be on the XBox.

Keep in mind last years E3 photos... It&#39;s possible the units got a HUGE boost in detail over the year, but I&#39;m still skeptical...

Ok just think about this:

1-aa screenshots units are from 1985 era and aa is gonna be OFP2 for PC with old OFP1 maps changed a little to OFP2 with 1985 era vehicles.

2-Modern day looking units from these day with modern day vehicles for XBox.

3-Or they can release AA as a expansion pack for PC to update the OFP1 some models such as units, vehicles and buildings changed than I buy that expansion.

If you guys read the interview that some game site did with Marek, and if you saw the old OFP2 site, I believe he said OFP2 will be based on VBS1&#39;s core. VBS1 shots kill the shiat out of the shots being fussed over right now, I TRULY hope those shots are not what it&#39;s going to look like. It looks similar to GR2 for XBox&#33;

I hate Photoshop now , because whoever put those pics up used the grain filter on them hard to see the details carefully , but i dont think these screens are OFP2 cause if they are its a bit of a disappointment not to see any graphical upheavels done , everything appears same only soldier model is different in Armed assault.

I hope they CLARIFY themselves at E3 or else .... i hate this game they are playing with us ... leaked screens , Armed assault , then Xbox sticking its foot in.

Here are some differences I noticed.

Proper grass
Trees look better but http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif I need to see more to make a real judgement.
Proper shadow casting note the vehicles have shadows cast on them by players even the guncasts a shadow on the soldier. That is serious calculation to do that.

Yes, BIS has such trouble getting screenshots from their games that they have to use older, uglier screens from alphas <span style='color:red'>[image removed]</span>

is it possible that assumin codemasters and BI have parted, that codemasters are developing OFP2 now with some other studio?

The pics we&#39;ve seen on flashpoint1985.com are from codemasters new game, ofp2, they have the rights for that name and thus for that homepage.

BI was owner of ofp2 homepage with tv, they parted from codemasters, they made a new site for their new game that was in development, theirs an auto-link to the aa site. the new game is called armed assault, maybe it was meant to be ofp2 1 or 2 years ago, but then the problems with codemasters started and they then parted, codemasters kept the name and started to mske its own ofp.

I think all 4 channels are OFP2 with
Channel 2 = Cold War 1985 with upgraded theatre.
Channel 3 = Modern Day Marines theatre.
Channel 1 = Modern regular Millitary theatre.
Channel 4 = I hope Navy Seals, USAF and Special Forces theatre.

Maybe this:

Armed assault -> OFP for xbox or a big patch to update our old flashpoint. If u watch carefully the buildings and vegetation form shots of ArmAss http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/biggrin_o.gif , u can see that they are the same as operation flashpoint, specially buildings.

Now, the shots from the forums and the third channel of flashpoint2.com: Vegetation see much better than the old flashpoint, models looks better and, what is more important, armament, soldiers and tanks are form actual era, not from 1985 era.

Its a longshot, but maybe BIS realised Codemasters was influencing the developmebt of OFP2 so, that it became more and more "Arcade" style, like a game for the mass..
This way Codemasters can make a lot of money with the game because of the name.
BIS guys didn&#39;t want this, and decided to go their own way, and make the game, the ofp community wants.

If it is anything like this, i will never buy a codemasters game anymore ofcourse, BIS did it the first time, so they will do it again&#33;

I agree with 4 in 1, hopefully it will be the XBox version. You kidding? Faces are the only part that sucked when using addons. The weapons were cool, and so were the arms, legs, body and stuff. But the head/face looked shite.

It looks alot like VBS based models and stuff, the shadows look much better though, from the screens i saw with the old buildings and other stuff im starting to think the game will deliver not only a whole new conflict with its theme and campaign but also a rebuild CWC with the new, updated graphics engine and stuff, this would be better than perfect, to have OPF CWC rebuilt completely has a part of the new OPF2, am i right? http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif

One thing i noticed is that the animations, just like in some VBS movies i saw recently are very similar, if not identical to Dreamy Knights http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/rock.gif , doesnt BIS own a mo cap studio or something?

Well maybe someone should start a new thread to help BIS come up with a better name than Armed Assault. That sounds like some kind of a crime game where you play as a bank robber or something, not a war simulator on as grand a scale as OFP.

Since OFP2 is probably going to be centered on the kind of regional conflict that is widespread today, maybe something along those lines.
